Occupancy sensor!
Just thought I would post this cause I find it histerical! I just had my car at the dealer cause the passenger airbag light off light kept coming on even with nobody in the seat! They said that the occupancy sensor was malfunctioning and need replaced! So since its under warranty I sad go ahead! Well I find it really funny that to change the sensor they have to change the whole seat! Lol so now I have a new passenger seat! The advisor told me that 1 seat is $3000! Absolutely rediculous! They also changed my amplifier cause I mentioned that once in 50 starts the. Radio is on but no sound! I find BMW to be really great at no hassling you and they just get rigjt to the point and change the part in question! But I also find that they don't like to waste their time diagnosing!! They would rather just throw parts at it! Oh well.. They havnt been wrong once yet with any of the many many things I've had wrong with my car! Sorry for the rant! Just thought I'd share my experiences!

So many exclamation points!!!
Good to see they fixed it without hassle, but are there any differences in seat color after the change? That would bug the crap out of me if the leather didn't perfectly match. I have a somewhat funny story with my old car's passenger-side seat sensor. I had a Subaru Impreza, and while my friend was sitting, I kept seeing the passenger airbag light flickering on and off. It was dark out, so it was even more noticable. I finally figured out why it was flickering. My friend, the tiny stature that she was, was apparently right at the borderline for the weight limit for the sensor. Every time we hit a bump, the light would flicker on and off. We found it humorous at the time. |

That's funny as hell. I don't think passenger air bag sensors in the seat respond that quickly though! Try putting a brief case on your seat while driving. It will take a good 5-10 seconds till the car turns off the bag and turns on the funny light! So I don't think that it was your friends lack of weight! Prolly something wrong with the wiring causing it it Turn on and off intermittently. And yes i like exclamation points!!!!!!!!! And ......... Lol
