They got the part in this morning and the SA said it will take all night to completely reprogram the entire car. How is that possible for just swapping out a part? I wasn't aware of any central locking or lighting issues when I arrived at the dealership. Just seems weird to me.
My wife's mini had a bad footwell module that controls the lightning and central locks. Hadn't noticed any real issues but my Indy recommended replacing it before it crapped out. Had it replaced and had to reprogram the whole car. Took a looong time to program it.

That's exactly what they replaced. It didn't make sense to me that you had to reprogram the entire car, but relieved someone else has gone through the same thing. Do they upload the latest version of firmware line for the DCT etc or just reload what was on there? Do you happen to know?

I was referring to the subject title of the thread which is dedicated to the 2013 135is. Anyone can post in here of course though. I think people take the "s" as meaning plural 135i and not an actual model number lol.

Enjoy your awesome car! Looks great. I love the wheels too. Are the tires 225/255s?

Yeah it has a staggered setup. Though in the rain of seattle the hankooks still have no grip.

Welcome. Nice looking car. You can post more pics in the photos section if you want or start your own intro thread.

Proud to say I just picked up #176 as a CPO car from BMW Pleasant Grove here in Utah last weekend. I initially was looking at higher miles i cars only then learned more about the is and turned my attention there.

Car had 36k when I picked it up and has been an absolute pleasure this past week. Just ordered some "real" tires and have some spacers on the way for a tad more aggressive stance. I'll post some pics when I get that all dialed. Just wanted to drop a note out of excitement.

And the 6-speed manual with black interior and the blue stitching.

These are the 2 that got me. I drove a 2011 DCT and really liked it but when I drove the 6MT out of the parking lot the sale was sealed. The blue stitching is so subtle and classy too.

Hoping to get some pics soon.

For those of you with 135is who went to a Dinan Stage 2, did you feel it was worth it? I assume it's just a flash. I am only interested in the tune part because I want to keep the eprformance exhaust.

I don't have a 135is but I do have an N55 135i with PPK and the PE and got the Dinan Stage 2 tune earlier this year and I'm happy with it. And yes, it's just a software flash. All the great PPK sounds are still there, plus 355 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. Decent bump in power above PPK, especially the torque. Not cheap, but it's from a reputable company. I like it and don't have any complaints whatsoever.

Not sure if you're aware or interested, but there are new tunes coming for the N55 E series by MHD Tuning. Here are a couple of threads about it.

Hope this helps.

I would probably go JB4 or MHD, but like the warranty part and dealer installed. I did the flash on my Mustang and piggyback on my Abarth, so not too afraid of them, but BMWs are a bit more expensive to maintain and don't want to deal with a denied warranty claim.

Did you go straight through the dealership or direct through Dinan?
