Performance Friction 08 Compound for your 1M and M3

08 Compound is one of the PFC newest and have gained immediate favor in Endurance Sportscar, and GT racing due to its peformance in applications where smooth initial bite is a must. 08 have a slight friction rise with temperature, excellent release and modulation characteristics, and very low abraded disc wear. In addition to its considerable performance, 08 wears the longest of all PFC pads and easily matches wear of the other competitors with much higher bite.

No, no clips on these. After all these are race pads.

We use these on our endurance car with great sucess but don't you think the -01 would be better for the typical DE type car?

01 remain as our top choice for track days. 08 has the advantage of longer wear and can potentially save a few pennies in the long run.

OK, so what would be your recommendation for an "improved" pad over OEM for an (aggressively) daily driven 1M?

If you don't mind the some dust and maybe a tiny bit of noise, the Ferodo DS2500's will suit your needs:

I have actually heard rumours that these pads will be available with clips for the E9x M3 and E82 1M.

PFC will do "special orders" for vendors in lots of 50 (or perhaps it's 100??) sets. So if enough folks want PFC-01s or PFC-08s with rattle clips -- and a vendor is willing to place an order, it can be done.
