We Aussies never bother looking at the for sale section, we have our own regional section for sales.

I think its a good idea for mandatory picture, personally I think listing a price should be mandatory as well.

Whats the point of a picture if its a bloody standard part like a fuel injector?

Do you really need a picture??

I had a standard exhaust listed, Kerscher splitter and injectors for sale...seriously?

I think this guy has way too much time on his hands to check if something has a photo or not.

Zzzeee Chermanz! Zeig....!

Pictures clear up a lot of confusion and indicate the condition of the part. I don't see how hard it would be to just include one?

In your case someone had to ask whether it was a standard exhaust or an aftermarket one. I'm guessing a picture here would have cleared things up

In the case of the splitter, pictures would indicate if its been scratched up from driveways. Or even what it looks like without having to google search what it looks like (which might be incorrect due to revisions or different versions of splitters available etc)

My point is that plain English clears up many misunderstandings for those with excellent reading skills. There are many adds here if you have a look that dont have a picture, so why aren't they all gone??

I dont have an issue asking a seller for pics or relevant information for part that I have bought off this site.

- Standard exhaust with less than 2500kms should tell you the condition of exhaust.

- New Kerscher splitter in satin black is also a marvelous indication of condition. Its new!

- Injectors in perfect condition is pretty self explanitory too.

Adds are back up again with pics anyhoo. Nobody said including photos were hard, but thanks for chipping in.

If we want to get pedantic Kerscher splitters don't come in satin black from Kerscher. So it can't be in "new" condition, it must have been painted at some point.

Because... 1). there are people here that will scam you. 2). Forum members can see the condition the item is really in. 3). So many forum members asked me to enforce this rule. So I am.

See some people on this forum only sell it to sell parts. Lots of parts. Like how I notice you have quite a few FS threads at the moment.

Now I don't see what the bog deal is. I see you are complying with the FS picture rule. Its not my fault you never read the rules. And Like I told you in a PM it is only fair to all the other forum members to see what they are buying.

other forums enforce a picture with a piece of paper with your handle and a date in the photo to prove you have the item you are selling. My 2c, picture should be mandatory.

Yeah that's a good idea, it gives you 'some' security at least as most scammers couldn't be bothered to go through all that!

Generally speaking I only purchase parts from a long time member and am wary of anyone with a low post count or a recent member who has purely joined to sell parts..

I also had this issue previously. I have no issue with the rule, what i have issue with is the rule is nowhere to be found in the sub forum we are advertising in and then receiving a warning for non-compliance.

This information should be in the sticky in all classifieds/subforums. I personally read the rules of this one prior to posting which made no mention of required pictures. If you are posting in a sub-forum, you would expect the rules that pertain to that sub forum to be contained in it, not in a parent forum sticky that you never even visit.

To receive a warning when the forum admins/moderators are being negligent in the logical organisation of their rules is a bit excessive.

+1

I never knew about the rule at all until my post was deleted and I received a PM that I would be banned if I tried to do it again.

A sticky post on our sub-forum would be nice to notify potential future sellers of this rule rather than receive infraction PMs without any prior indication of the rule itself.

Not everyone visits the international for sale thread when we're only trying to sell or buy things locally.

I said exactly the same thing to Dack when it happened to me.
As a reaction to this thread I had another for sale thread deleted, even though it was marked sold

So I've had more posts deleted.
This time it was posts asking a forum sponsor about his product and business practices.
