Here are some of the marks on my top. I just can't tell if they're normal or not.
album: View post on imgur.com They feel like depressions in the fabric, as far as I can tell there isn't any rubbing... I dunno whether it's normal or something worth complaining to the dealer about. |

And a good pair of heavily tinted sunglasses and a tight-fitting baseball hat. Where I live those items are must-haves all year round.
I also keep a heavy bath towel in the back seat. Not to clean up messes, but for those times when I forget to secure loose items (like paper) in the cabin. Invariably they will be just out of reach, but I can reach into the back seat and grab the towel and toss it on top of whatever. My moonlight top is holding up great, btw, but I've only racked up 3k miles so far.

I took my car in for service today and I showed my adviser the TSB, but he said there are no recalls listed for my car and it hasn't been fixed on my car either. What does that mean? He told me he has to talk to BMW and what not and wanted to reschedule to next week. I reminded him my warranty runs out in 2 days and so he kept my car in at the dealership.

One thing I'm unsure of is that my service adviser told me that they are going to change to whole soft top for me but the repair order only shows "54-34-7-190-757" which are new spacers and "54-34-7-311-688" which is the 'repair kit.' But the repair order does not show a soft top cover. I don't know if they ordered the soft top cover but just didn't write that on repair order for some reason. My soft top cover has the white mark but no holes so I wouldn't mind too much if they just replace spacers and not the soft top |

So my appointment is on Tuesday to replace the soft top and the spacers. I'm going to ask the service adviser if I can keep the old top, because who knows what will happen to my to-be new top in the future? Has anyone asked this before? who has the right to the replaced parts? obviously the owner and not the dealership, I'm guessing?

Yeah. It's an integrated piece. To the point that if you have a rear defroster failure they have to replace the entire top.

2011 Moonlight top in great shape after 15 months...top gets washed every time the car does, but not scrubbed or anything like that. Treated with raggtopp until the can ran out, now trying BMW's stuff, which seems to work well too.
