Vac Motorsports sells the whole unit with final drive for around $3500 depending if I Quaife or Wavetrac. Now to decide which one.

hp autowerks has a quaife for the dct listed for 1695. I'm not sure what the core charge is, but that seems like a pretty good price.

Looks like 2600 if you ship yours there and then have them ship back. 3400 if you have them install in a used diff. 3900 for an install on a new pumpkin.

Happy with my quaife for whatever its worth.

I'm pretty sure thats the price for just the diff. I'd still need to find someone around here to install it into my pumpkin. I'd rather buy the complete unit with final driveand just bolt it on. Leaning towards VAC as I can get a complete unit with a final drive for around $3400. I'm not sure if they will take my core back and give me a partial refund since its one of the ones that have a welded in ring gear. If I could do it for $2600 after core refund I could do it this year. If not might have to hold off till the spring.

Both punched it on the straight? Doesnt make sense. Wouldnt you be full throttle coming out of the turn? Maybe you were exiting on that particular turn faster? Maybe she was in the wrong gear? Maybe you were wot before her? It means you are a faster driver and its not the car. I blow by m5/6 on long straights which have a lot more straight line speed than most bmws.

She wasn't far behind me, so I had a slight lead on her on the straight coming out of the corner. It wasn't much however, if it was any closer I would have probably given her a point by. I would have been on the throttle first I suppose, but it wasn't by much. The next lap, she hit the straight first, and I was making up ground on her on the front straight. She also had DCT in her M3. I wouldn't have thought anything of it, but she came up to my car after the session and was almost in shock that she couldn't keep up with my 135i on the straight. Anyone who's done enough of HPDEs have been on both sides of this. Where you exit it a corner to a long straight line stretch and you either make up ground or lose ground to a car as both cars are going full throttle. Obviously there are a few variables that come into play since it's not a straight line drag race.

This just tells me that your exit speed is higher than hers. It doesn't matter who hits it first, if you are exiting faster out of the corner and are on full throttle before she is, of course you are gonna over take her. I don't know how experienced neither of you are, but if she is coming up to you and is surprised that her m3 can't keep up with a good ole 135i on a straight, that tells me she doesn't know what she is doing.
