am i crazy?
am i crazy for wanting to sell my 330 for a toyota FJ cruiser? i mean its not even in the same class of cars...actually its the opposite of what a 330 is. i saw one on the road on the 15 going down to SD and it looks pretty sharp. for some werid reason it speaks to me...

it is sort of cool for a mini suv
but I saw one that was out on a test drive yesterday and I saw the MSRP 30 GRAND!!! holy crap that's close to 325 money I bet the charm of the design won't last long though, the whole retro movement needs to go |

Well the bimmer is pretty much guarateed to have a pretty decent resale price when you decide to get rid of it. Can you say the same for the toyota? Honestly I don't know...just a thought, since they both cost around the same price.

Saw it at the Montréal auto show and was not impressed. The bumpers are made of cheap plastic, the same used for patio sets, and will show every mark, even when done by a fingernail.

My plan is to sell my 330ci and buy an e92 coupe for '07. Then get rid of my old truck in '08 for the Ford mini-bronco that is estimated to start just below $10K. This way I will still have a truck to take to home depot and haul things around - keeps my BMW clean. |

SUV's are really junk compared to cars, but if you just drive around in a straight line and slowly and don't care about how much you put in the tank, go for it. I always laugh at the H2's and 3's running around. Talk about cheap crap.

Those are definitely hot. I can see why you'd be interested. But I wouldn't do it unless you really plan to use it offroad semi-regularly. Otherwise the MPG is a killer, hard to park, etc.

Drove a Honda Pilot, which is a fairly decent SUV with full leather, kickin' stereo, nice rims, etc., while my wife drove the E90 when we first bought it. Finally 2 months later I could not stand driving the hulking, awkward yacht another second.
It cost me a 2 carat diamond ring, a Mercedes and taking a beating on the trade-in on the Pilot to pry it out of her hands, but now I drive it and she drives her new red girlie-looking C230. Learn from me. Don't do it! |

Sleep on it. For at least a few months. That's when the FJ will have the NAV option available, and initial demand will settle a bit. You may change your mind too.
Here are some new FJ pic's I took recently: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16374 |

Take your time on this one.
I just finished driving my wife's X5 for three days (600 kms), and I'm so glad to be back in my 325. You will be sick of the FJ in about 3 weeks.

Can you rent one for a week? Then decide. Or, if you can afford it, buy the FJ and keep the 3er.
