How about using the N55 downpipes on our N54 cars?

I wasn't talking about catless DP's and OEM midpipes. I was talking about catted downpipes (OEM or otherwise) and catless mids. You do not have the strong smell.

The cats that are on the OEM midpipe do not get hot enough to be very effective. I do know that the exothermic reaction is happening to a degree as I have probed the temperature of my cats installed in my midpipe compared to the section of exhaust tube directly in front of it. But as you said not enough to make the car be stink free.

N55 only has one downpipe and it would never fit on the N54's twins.

Upon request Berk will stuff the resonators with those pine tree air freshners.

There is no drone in my opinion. Since you're moving so much more air the volume is of course louder at cruising but not annoying. The car still maintains decorum during normal driving and sounds like a BMW not a cheap 4 banger.

400hp - Berk full sport exhaust = Macht Schnell 3" catless downpipes

Berk full sport exhaust & stock everything else

Yea i saw all those videos. I had a full tbe from a different company before and couldnt stand the booming noise during partial throttle driving. Went back to stock exhaust for a long time, now I just picked up your system. Hopefully it sounds better.

I haven't tired but they should fitup the same. But you still have that resonator box in place which after the cats are the most restrictive part of the midpipe. The BMW performance exhaust's only saving grace is that it removes that resonator as part of their kit. Other than that the BMWP is no much different than the OEM exhaust.

You can clean up a lot by swapping the midpipes alone. Larger tubing, mandrel bends, no crushed & crimped pipe, and best of all - no cats and no baffled resonator box.

I’ve been running a full vrsf exhaust on my 135i for a few months now and it sounds awesome. I decided to cut the resonator piece it comes with in the midpipe and replaced it with a 3.5 inch piece that was custom welded by a professional welder. Tone is amazing, with barely any drone and it makes the car feel lighter for sure. I’m looking to sell it since I have to go back to my oem midpipe for CA smog. If anyone in the Bay Area is interested in it for their 135i pls message me. I won’t ship it bc the piece is too big however fitment is perfect and it gives it that deep growl and gets rid of rasp.

Will it not pass smog because N54's have cats in the midpipes? Berk mids on a N55 have no impact on passing smog.

I’m not too sure. However, I don’t think so because primary cats are what restrict emmsions gasses from being released into the atmosphere but I could be wrong. If you’re interested in the mid pipe please call to text me my number is 650-743-1531.
