Buying a 135i from Kansas Dealer, will be regist'd in Florida. Whose Tax do I pay?

The title pretty much sums it up as I live in Miami, but will probably buy my 135i from another state (better deals). Do I pay the other state's tax, Florida Tax, or a combination of the two :iono:. I'm toally clueless. Thanks in advance for the help.

Florida tax - I bought mine in Kansas and will pay only Missouri tax. You'll sign a waiver form saying you're licensing the car out of state.

What tax are you talking about? Sales tax goes to the county where you bought the car. Registration tax goes to the state where you register the car.

In CA you pay Sales tax depending on your home address, which is where you will be registering your car.

Hmmm... I'm going to have to check on this. I've always paid Reno sales tax when buying a car even though I live in Carson City where sales tax is .5% less. If I can pay CC sales tax instead then it would save me about $200.

don't tell me your buying from Baron BMW.....

If so, Hopefully they are not like Aristocrat motors across the street...those guys are grade A snobs....

Guess you can act like that when you are the only luxury dealer in 100 mile radius

My experience at Baron has been good, akthough I haven't bought from there.
