128I halogen daytime running bulb - led conversion

Hi all, I am trying to find a LED or xenon like daytime running bulb on my 128i halogen non xenon headlights. There is a small bulb according to autozone it is this one http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...493800_0_1616_

It stays lite all day and I would like a bright white shining in the background of the headlight then the halogen alternative. I know everyone will recommend to upgrade to HIDs with angel eyes, but that is not in my budget is Please help.

Thanks

The only issue is the LED replacement may throw an error if it does not have the built in resistors.

The 128i halogen lights run the high beam bulb at reduced voltage as the DRLs. Replacing the bulb will also replace your high beam, so keep that in mind. The small bulbs you linked to at Autozone are replacements for the city lights that are found in the high beam reflector and only operate when the parking lights and/or headlights are on.

Are you talking about these?

If so you will find some options here:

http://store.ijdmtoy.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=35

... I have had no codes or problems and they are a huge difference ... I believe the two lights are 2825's or W5W

Hey Guys - for my old e36 I also put those small LED lights in for the "city light" or what the germans call a "parking light". But as I would come thru the gate at the base... the gaurds would tell me one of those LEDs would always pulsate when I had my turn signals on! So... Squid... put your turn signal on and go check your LEDs! lol I ended up ditching mine on my old e36. G.L.

Yup those are it! Now as for the "color" I did buy the white and yes they honestly do have a slight bluish tint to them. You can see it in the picture I posted. I am adding a pic of them with the stock headlight bulbs on, and you can see on the molding of the headlight there is a bluish hue from the light.

One of the things I really like about this one is the fact that they also project forward for a brighter appearance, but they also have leds on the side. So when it's dusk or or dark out you can see them clearly. Next month I'm ordering some Depos so I'm not too worried about them anymore.

Squid, if you want to save money i'm almost complete with my cheap mans stock headlight conversion.

This was my 2nd to last step...

As far as the bulbs go, I think I have decided to buy these

http://store.ijdmtoy.com/2825-W5W-Er..._t10_sku27.htm

or

http://store.ijdmtoy.com/On-board-Co...t10_sku_2c.htm

Mainly, because they sport the more powerful 5050 LEDS... i want more power projected to the Highbeam glass, I haven't decided if I want a LED facing forward (I might just want the headlight reflection look.

Other key changes I have made include:

-6000k XENON 35w HID conversion w/ error deleter
(I must say I was very impressed with the result. After reading on these forums how light would blind people in front of you and other issues about not having projectors. Its not true. No one has flashed lights at me, I stood way out on them and they were fine. The visibility on the road is like no other. Lastly, that look awesome on this headlight IMO... (Pictures to come)

-Philips H7 CystalVision Ultra Headlight Bulbs - High beam, nice and bright! Best part is they have the xenon look. So it will really fill up your Highbeam (driving lights on low mode) nicely and complete the LED conversion you already did.

Lastly if you hate the orange in the light buy this:

http://www.bimmian.com/82/HRC/
and a xenon bulb

---I did not do this part, as I like the orange contrast on my Monaco Blue.

A future mod for me:

-Converting my fogs to 6000k HIDs as well... or 3000k fog light yellow HIDs (i have not decided)

I will be posting pictures when I am complete

Oh the best part... So far it looks like my entire project is going to cost me only around 150 + a few hours of my own labor

Only downside is you don't pretty AEs. But on the upside (you can undo this in 1 hour - warranty) and you can put that saved 850 in the bank!

I bought the leds that the other guy bought on that forum you posted. They have 2 5050s on each side and I wanted that white color

I got two LEDs and just put them in there. Lol got them at a shop here in Miami for $20 a pair and I've had no problems whatsoever. I'm just looking to change my halogen high beams bc I already have HIDs in the headlights and fog lights. 10/8K top/bottom.
Any suggestions for high beams?

-Philips H7 CystalVision Ultra Headlight Bulb

That is what I went with. It had the best reviews (believe me I read tons) It is more of a whiter light and less of the bluish
