Turbo Inlets?

TFT INLETS VS VTT INLETS?

what are your thoughts on these inlets?

Both do the same thing, with similar yields. Doesn't really have much benefit unless you're running upgraded turbos.

Could argue that the VTT install is less work since you don't have to relocate the coolant reservoir.

TFT kit does include a replacement charge pipe as well as replacement reservoir and all hardware though.

Big price difference, TFT is $1,500 vs VTT @ $500, even if you added the cost of a charge pipe, filters, etc to the cost of the VTT option it still ends up cheaper.

The TFT setup does look pretty sweet, so there's that

There is another option being talked about elsewhere in the internet. It's going to be a DIY. Total cost looks like around $200. Looks really good so far. Awaiting non stupid weather for dyno results. Both inlets converge into 1 filter on the passenger side. Keep an eye out for that. Might be better than or equal to either of the other options.

yea i know for which diy you are talking about but I'm just thinking about those air filters being exposed in the engine bay sucking a lot of hot air but vtt doesn't.

I will be running rb turbos. with turbo inlets. I wish you can separate the tft package and just get the inlets and relocate the reservoir

I hear the hot air complaint a lot but I'm not sure that much hot air gets that far forward. Specially while moving. Sitting still and revving it would make a difference. Where that 1 filter sits there is also a door in the fender liner that could be modified pretty easy to scoop air into. I was thinking about modding my hood to get fresh air in there too. Well see where it goes and what the dyno says about it. Data will tell. And for the price difference if it's even close to the same data it's worth it. He also shows a pretty simple way to relocate the steering and coolant reservoirs.

"slicksilver" Inlets or the DIY one.

Hot air/DCI soak myth was busted conclusively a while ago. Don't worry about it. Volume > Temp

I personally am going with VTT. The very fact that i can keep my existing charge pipe and intake is a huge plus. My intake is CARB legal and is really the only thing that screams aftermarket in my engine bay so if ever i get pulled over or reffed it won't be too much of an issue.

You can still keep your charge pipe with the others. Never really tthought about any type of emissions laws.

I would go with the Vtt ones because they're not made of metal, and metal gets hot lol

I was contemplating this as well. Not much to work with though. Definitely post up what you come up with. I think (pending logs and dyno results) my best option is the diy.

With a new world record stock turbo N54 boasting on the internet with the mmperformance inlets pretty sure the single filter DIY might be in my future. The cost savings over the other brands is huge as well.
