Apex ARC 8 Wheels

So I splurged out and decided to get some light weight wheels and rubber.

Rims are Apex and tyres are Nitto NT01
Stock rims are BMW 359 and rubber is Nitto Invo

Doing research and knowing these wheels it wasn't a terribly hard choice of
which race/weekend warrior wheels to get.

Apex Front Rim/Wheel 18x9.5 +22 245/40/18 weight 20.8kg
Stock Front Rim/Wheel 19x9 +31 265/30/19 weight 23.6

Front weight saving 2.8kg per wheel

Apex Rear Rim/Wheel 18x10.5 +27 275/35/18 weight 22.2kg
Stock Rear Rim/Wheel 19x10 +23 285/30/19 weight 24.6kg

Rear weight saving 2.4kg per wheel

Total weight saving of 10.4kg of rotating and unsprung mass

You can really feel the difference when driving especially on bumpy roads.

Car feels somewhat more responsive to throttle input.

Hope this helps someone when looking for info on these wheels

But where are the pics of them mounted marty?!?!

The oem 359's are a bloody heavy rim but look fantastic IMO

Did you notice a rather dramatic increase in tyre roar? I must admit going to Nitto NT05's there is a tad more tyre noise

Yeah the NT05's whir also, nothing too crazy but just a trade off but holy shit they have so much more grip! (having said that I went from a 225/265 comb0 to a 245/275 combo)

Those tyres look meaty!

Didnt you go for something crazy like a 305 rear?

Marty, typo on your OP. You said the front stock rims are 18" with a 19" tyre and your rear Apex rim is a 18" with a 19" tyre

Do you find much tyre slippage when WOT in 1st, 2nd, 3rd?

Fixed

Still tuning but when you have 410+ rwk it's hard to hook up on the street

Haven't been to track yet where it's prepped

Haha yeah I can imagine. Do you still lose traction easily in 2nd and 3rd with the NT01s or is it mostly just in 1st?

Haven't tried yet as I'm still tuning, I haven't pushed the car yet until it's done

I was on map 3 on the dyno with 80 adder so boost came on slowly, now on map 6 I'm hitting 25psi at 2900rpm, it's insane

Why'd you end up going 245/275 btw? I remember reading somewhere you were aiming for 305s initially for the rear.

couldn't get 265 for the front to match the 305's diameter

would have throw the whole traction control abs system into a frenzy.

have to wait, no eta

BTW no wheel spin in any gear, i'm able to put down all 400+rwk and 9000n of torque to the bitumen.

Its like being fired out of a slingshot, crazy.

Ah that's a shame. Yeah the sizes for NT01s are annoying. That's why I've gone Z221s.

Sounds epic though if it doesn't even wheelspin in 1st.

How hot are your iats getting at the start line?

I'm stressing I have to get meth.

This ad engineering intercooler isn't very good. It gets hot and stays hot.

Yea but what iat do you have before launching?

If I'm stopped idling for 30 secs I'm at 120f easy.

And this ad intercooler doesn't go down when you launch like the ATM intercooler does.

For example sitting at lights.

ATM was like 120 110 120 through a 1234.

Ad is like 120 125 130 135 through 1234.

I don't think I can even go to the drags.
