1M has the N54 twin turbo
135i has the same engine until early 2010 when it got the updated single turbo N55 engine |

I have a 12' DCT & if you drive it like a manual with an automated clutch it is great to DD & if you want to add more power you can always rebuild the trans with stronger clutches. That 2010 135 will require some preventative maintenance IMO.

I can't comment too much on the difference between 09/10 cars, but I've still seen more issues with 2010's than 2011's. And any N54 will need walnut blasting.
