FS : US SPEC Xenon Adaptive headlights

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
UPDATE *** ITEM SOLD - POST CLOSED

Trying to put a feeler out there for anyone who wants to bring an offer for my set of US spec xenon adaptive headlights. I replacted mine with EURO SPEC and would like to sell my US ones if the offer is reasonable. Not entirely sure what is 'reasonable' but thats why its a feeler post i guess.

bavarian auto recycling. they are oos right now, but apparently get some every few weeks. several members on here (parachute is one i can recall right now) get it for that price. he said brand new too. others get it for around $1000. just depends i guess.

i've made you an offer. check your pm. i believe it is what others sales on here have gone for.

Good luck with the sale.

Some Euro nonadaptives have been around for $900....if...if you can get a hold of a set. They do not last very long for that price. Euro adaptive will likely go for close to $1200+.

Selling your US specs adaptives...well, I would put it somewhere in between depending on what you feel is right. FYI: EBAY Euro spec Adaptives go for $1800+ from Rover Active.

Thats what he retails it for. I can sell a box of Kleenex for $5, doesn't mean thats the going rate for a box.

Roveractive themselves will sell it to you for $1,300. I know. I negotiated with them. Their prices are full of sh*t. Everyone here knows that. Lets not quote their rates.

As far as the price of adaptives vs. non adaptives, the pricing is not going to become a big deal between the two because the people willing to spend the most money are 325i owners who have halogen lighting. They won't rig it to do adaptive anyways, and to most it doesn't matter to them whether the headlight is adaptive or not. They just want xenon lighting.

hey stepehen. whats up dude?

me, or the op? if its me, yeah, i'm frusturated about the xenon stuff dude. first getting shafted from the dealer who i would have gladly paid but told me i would need to wait 2 months to get a car with one. now i think a lot of 330i owners are trying to get full price ($800 from dealer included labor, warranty and adaptive technology that 325i owners won't get if they retrofit) for their xenons. Another member, Andylee was getting slack for selling his xenons for $500 on here. Whats wrong with that? They depreciate, and people seem to think just because 325i owners got shafted and are desparate, why not make a quick buck and then all " i have to do is put down 2-300 and walk off with euros" thats not cool imo. am i the only one feeling that the prices on used u.s. spec xenons are being kept artificially high via pressure from some members on here? i'f i'm wrong correct me. if you weren't talking to me, i made an ass out of myself.... lol...did u ever decide to black your ride out? i still think it'll look phat, even if we don't end up trading (i've actually heard the chrome can get messed up tho)

Email from Roveractive regarding the xenons... Whomever says they get less than that, Id like to see you put your money where your mouth is...

"Hi AJ,

I appreciate your interest and your offer, but that figure is less than I pay. I’ve never sold a set of these for $1300 so I’m unsure where that figure came from. I used to sell them for $1699.95 per pair, but BMW raised its pricing and what you see is the current price. If anything the price goes up due to BMW’s increases and the dropping dollar value. The best offer is the price you see plus free shipping. I’m not in a position to go lower than that.

Please feel free to contact me if you'd like additional assistance.

Thanks

Justin

I'm sure there's plenty of Canadian spec xenons without adaptive lying around the e90 salvage yard. Clear corner and cheap, asking my uncle to check them out for us when he finds them.

just spent a few minutes looking for my old email, my home laptop and home desktop. it is probably stored on my work computer because i couldn't find it, though i was going to prove it by attaching my email.

anyways, he quoted me $1,300, i'm sure. it doesn't matter to me anyway because that price was more than i was willing to pay. This was a long time ago, maybe 5 months ago. I have no reason to lie about this. I didn't say he sold it, I didn't buy it, but i did negotiate him down to 1,300.

Canadian spec is amber, just a fyi. I think thats a good idea though, since xenons are standard in Canada, the market value SHOULD be less. Although Hunter and I did speak with BMW of toronto, and it was pretty expensive, i think 1,600 or something, can't recall.

Keep trying though, because i still think the Canadian option will work, asl ong as one is willing to go U.S. spec.

we're not really lucky, considering that we're paying an additional 4k CAD or more than our American neighbor for a similarly equipped 325i or 330i.
