Lemon and Terra in Online Config

Anyone else notice you can force the "Build Your Own" web app to render images using Priority 1 options? You can also have it generate higher resolution images if you embed larger width and height parameters in the URL.

I've been wanting to view various exterior color combinations with both Lemon and Terra. Until now, I've been using one of the international site configurators, but you can't always specify the interior trim.

Sample renderings below...

Jet Black with Lemon rendered at an angle of 340 degrees

Alpine + Terra + Glacier Aluminum (this trim not available on convertible but cool that you can force it to render if you embed the 4MG option code)

Select the exterior color you want, and then pick one of the two tone interiors. Right click on the picture and go to properties to get the direct link, then past it into a new browser window.

Look along the string unil you see the interior option code, (I think it says "fabric" right before the actual code), and change it to LWB8 for Terra, and then hit Enter. It will ask if you want to open the picture, so then hit yes.

OP, cool find. :w00t:

I have no life...

Must... Obsess...

To generate an image, you send a request to a web application that normally handles rendering behind the scenes. In the request, you set a number of parameters that tell the rendering app what you want to see.

Example:

135i Convertible - Montego + Lemon

In the above example, the base URL of the rendering app is:
http://resource.bmwusa.com/cosy.arox

The rest of the URL contains a series of property name/value pairs delimited by ampersand characters.

Name/Value pairs deciphered:

pov=walkaround
Exterior view (specify viewing angle as shown below)
paint=P0A51
Montego Blue
fabric=FLWB7
Lemon
sa=S02SM,S03AP,S03YA,S0502,S0521,S0522,S0524,S0760

3YA Moonlight Black soft top
502 Retractable headlight washers
521 Rain sensor and auto headlight

524 Adaptive light control

width=1200
Set image width to 1200 pixels
height=505
Set image height to 505 pixels
angle=20
Set view angle to 20 degrees (valid on pov=walkaround)
---

Wow that picture makes terra look dark! It's a much lighter color, with a slightly redish hue to it. That looks like chocolate bar.

Replace the wheel code in the option list. 2MR = style 261.

Before
&sa=S02SM,S03AP,S03YA,S0502,S0521,S0522,S0524,S076 0,S0609

After
&sa=S02MR,S03AP,S03YA,S0502,S0521,S0522,S0524,S076 0,S0609

Someone needs to create a web form that generates the URL you need by selecting the options you want. Now that'd be cool. :P
