Not quite. That's a previous gen, '99-'04, which are quite a bit slower than the current gen, '05+. That and judging by the video, the Mustang driver spun hard off the line and had to let off, he couldn't launch his way out of a paper bag.
I had an '07 Mustang GT and I've driven(and will own) a 135. It's a driver's race. Trust me. |

i've been to a drag strip but i didn't drag my car. my buddy dragged his sl55 and another guy dragged his c6 z06. its a slow track and the sl55 hit 13.3 and the z06 was at 12.6; each track is different.

I was going by the poster above me who said there was a 13.6 run, and I couldn't find it either, so my mistake.. If you've never drag raced you car, you probably dont' understand how much varience there can be. The difference between my best run in the GTO and my worse was a full second (a 13.8 vs 12.8). I don't know it wasn't a bad run by the Mustang, and that's the point. Neither do you. Claiming that this one video is proof that a 135i is going to kill a Mustang at the strip doesn't make any sense. Each track is different, but so is each driver. In this case the "proof" is offered without any knowledge about either one of the cars in question. We don't even know for sure if that Mustang is a V8. If you look at the times being posted by 135is in the track forum, and compare those to the times that are typical of Mustangs, you will see that the two cars are pretty close. |

First off, that's me in the video and that track is at 4900ft (Pueblo, CO). The advantage of course going towards the TT of the 135i vs. the natural aspirated GT. He bogged out of the hole, and I spun badly resulting in a 2.5 60ft. My best that night was a 14.1. His best that I noticed was a low 16 along with a 96-98 GT with the same time. Back to the OP, I think regardless who gets the better launch, the 135i would pull on the stang, unless the 135 spins horribly, and the stang has the best launch of his/her life. I think 9 times out of 10, the 135 would win in a 1/4 mile....1/8 mile would be a different story.
