Very interested in a black can with baffling, but I am wondering what you have used for baffling? Foam or is it a trade secret?

The baffles don't need to be anything tricky, and I'm guessing it just some sort of aluminum divider?
All a baffle should do is force the crankcase gas to go on a longer route in the catch can to increase the efficiency of the catch can to actually catch the oil. If you look at pics of the catch can, the inlet and outlets are beside each other, so theoretically without a baffle, the crankcase gas can go straight from the inlet to the outlet pipe - meaning little if any oil condensed on the wall of the catch can. Even with a catch can, oil WILL still coat your intercooler and air intake pipes. It just reduces the amount of oil that will coat them by hopefully making them condense inside the catch can first. The best solution (but illegal) is to just vent the crankcase gases to the atmosphere. However if you happen to blow a piston ring, the entire oil contents will be spilt out onto the road rather than being burned during combustion until the engine shuts down or runs out of oil.

I understand how a baffle works. I posted earlier in this thread about it.
I mentioned the foam since it helps to condense the vaporized oil. Otherwise only a significant temperature drop in the can will speed the condensation along. Albeit a baffle does help a bit but a media, such as foam on the inlet side of the baffle in the can, helps greatly with its efficiency. |

When I installed the left hose, I just ran it under the engine cover and out the opening on the left side of the housing to keep from kinking it. Will that be a problem with heat and the hose..

I wouldn't fun anything under the engine cover. It shouldn't be that big of a deal. However, you should still fix it when you get a chance.
