Made a few changes.. What do you think?
I came to my 135 cab. from an e46 M3 cab. I decided to change the rear of the 1er slightly. What do you guys think? I have my flame suit on....
PS. The 1er is without a doubt faster then my SMG equipped M3 was!! |

I am also not a fan on ///M badge on the back, but not based on principle. I just think it looks lonely and too small for the space... also too much to the center.
If you want M badges, why not try them on the sides behind the tires, similar to the e36 M3. That has the possibility of looking decent, as long as the badges are on the small side. Maybe just above the rocker panel on the front quarter panels. You will probably get flamed for either based on principle... I am just giving my opinion based on the aesthetics.

I knew you guys would like my M badge... But I gotta tell you this. Most of us have them on the steering wheel.. I see lots of you ordering the M door sills too. So, true the badge does not "belong" on the car... But neither do the door sills. I am not planning on leaving it on the car forever... I just am trying it out:thumbup:

Although I like the look of the painted diffuser, I also like the contrast that the stock unpainted diffuser has and I think painting it kind of takes away from the sportiness of the car.
It does look good though, just depends on what motif you are going for. And as the others have stated, dont like the M badge. |

i like the ///M badge..
its ur car and u can do anything with it.. hell if u want put a Z06 on it if u like it then do it.... i think this car deserves an ///M badge more then the new M3.. i know u guys are gonna go crazy with me but seriously is the "SLIGHTLY" increased performance and i mean SLIGHTLY.. worth $20000 more?? i honestly think that if u compare the E92 M3 with the E30 M3 EVO. ull know that the new M3 has no SOUL..no character ...not a true ///M. its very commercialized. I drove all of the ///M 3s ever made and i owned a 1995 ///m3 and i gotta tell u the E30 takes the cake.. its a true drivers car.. keep the ///m badge . I LIKE IT this is just my opinion so dont come swinging. Ash |

Let's see, it is called a 135i M Sport in its native territory of Europe. It does have M badging in other locations. It does NOT say ///M1 it just says ///M. I can shake off BMW of North America's brainwashing that the letter M is forbidden, UNLESS it comes from the factory with a numeric suffix. I think it looks nice. And yes, I do know that it does not have ///M on the rear deck in its native land of Europe. But being that it is an M Sport, putting one additional motorsport badge that wasn't from the factory, as long as you are not using a ///M# badge is ok. Identifying your car as an M Sport and not an M is cool with me. Oh, and nice work on the diffuser as well. I just wish others weren't drones to BMW of North America's brainwashing of what they want you to perceive the cars as, instead of what they really are.

Only BMW can label it an M. Anyone else doing it is basically a poser with some obvious insecurities. It's like giving yourself a medal. Sure you can do it, but don't think it's going to convey the message you think that it will.

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG sells our cars in Germany with an available "M Sportpaket" in the brochure. In the UK you can get M Sport trim. In Europe they are M cars, just not M1 or the like. So BMW HAS labeled it an M. Just look as the sills, and the steering wheel. The difference is "Vehicles which have been modified by BMW Motorsport but are not full M-Cars may feature plain "M" badges with no number, whilst full M-Cars have "M" badges with the model number". BMW of North America may want to ignore this fact in brainwashing customers here, but that is accurate.

Its not an M even though our cars have M parts... I like the look of the rear diffuser, especially because its not like everyone elses car but i wll agree with everyone on here about the out of place M badge. My last car was an 06 M3 and I used to hate seeing other 3 series with plane M badges and everything else stripped off the car. All these people had was some M rims and they put the M badge on the stripped trunk lid. SO they try to portray that their car is an M to everyone else that doesnt know better

I think the M only belongs on the trunk if the car was designed by the BMW M Division. Sure, the 1 has some M parts, but that's why they have the tiny M symbol. A handful of M parts don't make an M car, even if it's a beauty of a performer. Taking the suspension and a handful of other parts from a porshe and putting them on a Cavalier doesn't mean it should have a Porche symbol on the hood.
That said, do what you want. It's your car. All of the m3 owners will probably laugh at you though. That extra 20k they paid covers all of that r&d to make the M3 what it is. The 1er just gets lucky by getting some fancy (but much appreciated) hand-me downs. |
