Exclamation 325i Starts very weird, and then is normal. What the hell??

My girls 325i, when you first start it AC on or AC off, When you go to start the car. the RPMS shoot to 1500, then below 500 then to like 800 back to 500 then to 1200, for about 10 seconds it goes back and forth, when I opened the hood and she started the car, it feels like the car is about to stall out. and the engine vibrates ubruptly and is real loud. the whole car will shake. but then everything is normal and the car drives fine. What can this be? It never did this before it just started today. No check engine lights nothing.

Didn't accidentally filled up with low octane gas, did you?

If not, then do you have the latest software update?

Could it be something with the hot weather? It was pretty hot here at NJ today...

Ehh, how bad is it? I had to put 89 in my FX becasue the damn station was out and I was empty... It did some of the same shit your speaking of. I just burned it off and refilled with good stuff. Im not sure if this is the best way to do it, but thats what I did.

My 325i starts a bit rough sometimes. A couple of times I've had to push the button again for it to start. I use 91+ octane fuel from different sources...

It doesn't really worry me though. Should it?

I think you should take the car to the dealer service department for a diagnostics check.

it's not an octane issue. I ran an entire tank of 89octane gas through my car recently (on dealer's advice) and the car ran fine. If you got water in the gas or something (ie bad gas), then the issue wouldn't just 'go away' after a bit of idling

Agree with David325 here. Take it to the dealer and have it looked at, especially if it continues. This is your girl's car. Don't take chances.

Yeah, I would take it to the dealership to get it checked out especially with it acting out. Maybe it will do the same at the dealership and they can fix the issue soon. Good Luck!
