Lightning does strike twice (fuel pump again)

Looks like my fuel pump took a crap again. I think I am getting rid of the car. This is way too much of a hassle. Look for parting out to begin soon. Looking to get an M car.

Had mine go out in June.....and the long cranks have returned. 50% of the time.
Fear my 2nd one is going out soon.
No rough idle or limp mode yet though

I wouldn't mind trading in for a E92 M3....if only those were 40K

Had my first long crank yesterday. Hoping against hope that it was just a combination of a cold start and the weather, but I know better...

Cold start every morning. They not only found a bad fuel pump but ingnition coils and plugs were changed. The tech said the ignition coils and injectors are the next biggest problems on these cars after the hpfp.

My car has been having the long crank for some time now. Brought it in 3 times already but bmw says its fine. I then started videoing my car everytime i start it. It's much worse now. Bringing it in tuesday and hopefully they change it out then. If not, definatly selling this car. This car has gone in for service more then any car ive owned. Which is sad cuz its the first brand new car ive bought. I feel like i made a big mistake buying this...

Well at least the heated seats don't actually set them on fire. I think that would be worse.

I figured there'd be some issues the first year or two since introduction, since there usually are. It just sucks that they haven't been able to really correct the root cause, or even seem to know what that root cause is.

That is the problem. These are not first year issues. These issues have been going on for years with the n54 motor since it came out in the 335i. Nothing has changed.

I've had my pump replaced once.
Anytime I feel a miss-fire, no matter how slight, I'm aware of it: and fear the HPFP failure again.

Wow it seems like the hpfp issue is really bad in the US. It doesn't seem to be as common here but it does happen. Is it really worth selling the car though?
