Going on extended vacation

Question about what to do if I am going on an extended vacation (10 days). Will my battery drain itself over 10 days? Should I disconnect it? If I disconnect it, are my settings going to be lost?

Thanks for the help!

10 days shouldnt be an issue. When you talk about leaving a car sit for months then you start to think about that stuff.

Agreed. I was just gone for 2 weeks, no problem. It started right up, maybe 1/2 second of a grumble, that's it.

My Focus, it had 2 seconds of grumble before the engine smoothed out. It's not the battery that's the concern, it's the oil. The battery will stay charged for a long time, especially verts that have two batteries like mine. But the oil really drains out in 2 weeks, just be gentle on that.

I wouldn't give it a moment's thought. When we recently took the 128i on a 4 week trip, my '99 E46 was left sitting, ungaraged, with it's 5 year old BMW battery. It started up immediately upon our return.

I go to school in Baltimore without my car (most of the time) I usually leave it for 2-3 weeks with no use before I come home and have NEVER had an issue starting it. I wouldn't worry at all, man!
