Clutch travel
I know I'm not alone on this, but this is really starting to bother me. The BMW's clutch pedal has WAY too much travel for my liking. In the seating position that I find comfortable, I literally have to lift my ankle a little to complete a shift.... personally, I would rather it just require pivoting the foot up and down (as with most cars that I've driven), and not an additional lifting of the ankle.
As a result, my floor mat and pedal cover are taking a beating. The BMW all-weather mat is nearly worn through under the clutch, and I have significant wear on the rubber padding of the pedal (because of all the commotion during a shift) - and I have less than 5,000 miles driven. Maybe it's just me, but I've never had this issue with my other cars. Now, I don't think a clutch stop is the answer for me. What I'd rather have is a way to adjust so that the clutch didn't start so high. Any ideas? |

Clutch distance seems fine to me, maybe get your travel checked out if you feel its excessive.
