While replacing a cylinder head I broke the ratchet on a torque wrench at 125 ft/lbs and punched the firewall. Didn't break anything, but had a purple hand for weeks.

Here's the front tie brace (connects from the a-arm pivot on both sides in the cross member to the jacking plate) and the rear t-braces (connects the front and rear lateral links together and up to the chassis) that were installed a couple of weeks ago. Currently waiting on UPS... Lug nuts are "out for delivery."

Wooo Hooo! it's on the ground and ready to head to the body shop to get the frame straightened. It also has a new right front fender.

The car may be headed to the bodyshop today! I'll know for certain in a couple of hours.

Ok, it's snowing here. The towing company is expecting paying jobs, so the car won't make it to the body shop today.

I'm not expecting anything bad. We're expecting that only a small pull is needed. The test fit on the fender isn't even that bad. The only thing that really shows is that the gap at the top of the door is too small and too big at the bottom. The door actually opens and closes without interference with the new fender panel. Once the pull is complete, there will be some seam welding on both sides of the car to stiffen and stabilize everything.

It appears to be going to the bodyshop tomorrow morning.

I won't really know until after I talk to the bodyshop tomorrow. The car should go straight from the bodyshop to the cage builder. I'll need to get on to that after tomorrow's bodyshop trip.

Tom does. He's about a mile up the road from me. There's also a nationally recognized cage builder just off of 495S.

Mike, make sure you have the rules for cage requirements for whatever series you may wind up in someday. I see too many people on bimmerforums have to re-do cages, after getting inspected at a series event that they want to participate in.

Even if you don't plan on running at any of those events, you may want to make it compatible with a series rulebook, that it may likely compete in, after you've sold it. It will be worth a lot more as a turn-key car, than a car that's going to need a new cage installed.

Just a thought, in case you already had not thought that.
