The, NO HPFP problem thread.
Since we see every HPFP failure posted, as is understandable, I'm creating this thread to ask all of those that lurk and or post regularly, to post on this thread if you have NOT had an HPFP failure.
I think it would be good to have a thread where owners who haven't had a failure can post a positive. It will be helpful to potential owners to see that many of us have not had an HPFP failure. I'm sure some will post on here, "well you just haven't had it fail YET, just wait." But, it would be a good thing, and potentially a point of reference, to have a thread with a number of posts letting us know of those that haven't had a failure. I think it would good to post the year, mileage, and even trans choice, and even other issues/problems, for those who have NOT had an HPFP failure. If you have one in the future, you can come back and edit your post. C'mon lurkers, and/or those who don't normally post. Let's see how many 'no HPFP' members there are! Mine: Model/year: 2009 135i Mileage: 8000 Trans: Manual Issue/problems: occasional long cranks. No audio sound at start up, rare. TPS sensor SES light, went out after 2 days. |

Two years and 20,000 Km.- no issues with HPFP, mine was a Feb '08 build. I have used 94 Octane, zero ethanol fuel for 95% of the fuel fills. I normally top the tank up when it gets to just above the 1/2 mark.
Also, no cracked third brake light, no tail light failures, and have never had any mods on the car. |

Yes, I need to read this to start having optimism for my road trip next month!
Mine: Model/year: 2008 135i Mileage: 11,000 Trans: Auto Issue/problems: Tail light bulb (replaced both), Coolant warning lights (filled it back on my own), Rattles (I deal with it), Two blown tires (runflats suck) EDIT: Totally forgot car went into limp mode once. Had to replace a spark plug or something more inner engine. I totally forget what even happened. Car wouldn't go though, that's for sure. Double EDIT: Audio went haywire one day with this LOUD buzz that would NOT stop until after everything shut down (5 min?) after turning the car off. Haven't heard the buzz again. No HPFP, yet.
Model/Year: BMW 135i 2009 Mileage: 32,000km Trans: Steptronic Issues/problems: Squeeky brakes, otherwise fine. Always fill up using Premium Shell 98RON or 93AKI when tank is completely dry. I have had about 6-8 random long cranks between 31,000km - 32,000km. Suspected HPFP failure in the near future. |

Model/year: 2008 135i
Mileage: 28,000 Gas: ALWAYS 93 Octane (Usually BP aka Amoco), occasionally Shell or Chevron Trans: Manual Issue/problems: 3rd brake light replaced under warranty Headlight bulb replaced under warranty Radio Volume knob replaced under warranty (it was rubbed down due to my constant use of it) Plastic surround of steering wheel replace due to wear and tear from long road trips (under warranty) *Tuned from Day 1 *Zero major issues, longest crank was maybe 1.5 seconds ***Oh and the so-called run craps are better than we think, just used them this weekend at the track and they held up better than I expected, definitely not r-comps or even extreme summer perf's but decent even though....a flat could happen to any tire be they run flats or not |

No HPFP, yet.
Model/Year: BMW 135i 2008 Mileage: 31 000 km Trans: manual Issues/problems: replaced third brake light Always fill up using 98RON or 100RON gas when the low fuel warning shows. I've had few random long cranks between 25 000 km and 30 000 km when the car wasn't driven for few days. Suspect HPFP could fail in the near future. |
