Posted this over at the e90 forum but i'll post it here for anyone that is interested...
i got the quote back from tire rack for the yokohama advan neova ad08's in the following sizes 2 x 225/35 R19 2 x 255/30 R19 If i want them shipped all together (4 tyres on one invoice to the same address in Melbourne) it comes to $1516 AUD including shipping. If i want them split into two invoices and two shipments (so 2 tyres each shipment) to different addresses in Melbourne, it comes to $1617 AUD in total. ($851 AUD for the rears and $766 AUD for the fronts) So it costs me about $101 AUD more to ship the tyres in two shipments to avoid any taxes, duties, customs fees, etc. The guys from tire rack said i should not be charged anything else (fees, taxes, etc) since landed value will be comfortably under the $1000AUD mark for each shipment. The cheapest price i got in Australia was from Taleb tyres in Sydney for exact same tyres. They quoted me the following prices delivered to my door. F: $550 R: $600 Therefore the a set of 4 tyres in Australia would have cost me $2300 Whereas the tire rack comes in at $1617AUD so that works out $683 cheaper! Not a bad saving for a couple of emails work Last edited by E92325i; 09-01-2010 at 08:52 PM.. |

I'll get the full job done to them when fitted to ensure they perform to their optimum. As for the wheel alignment, I'm keen to get it changed as the stock setup is terrible (shreds outsides of fronts and tears up insides on rears).

Thanks for all the good info on tyre wear. I must admit though I'm a bit surprised that BMW aren't taking more flack for fitting such short life tyres, has anyone tried going back to their dealer. I've recently noticed a slippery end at 10k kms and I do every day city driving no track work.
