Wheel selection.....
Torn on aftermarket ideas. I am going to go full suspension mods with coilover setup and M3 misc parts swaps. What are peoples opinions on some of the better wheel setups for aggressive performance. Not to keen on 2 piece wheels, looking for a light weight forged wheel.
Shoot me some of what you all think are great wheels for this car with a good suspension - and by that I mean a wheel/tire that will fill the well neatly without rubbing issues. I know every suspension setup is different just looking for general opinions. Shoot away. |

Daniel,
There are a ton of options out there depending on your budget and size preference. I am a fan of VMR wheels which are made in 1-series offsets in 18" sizing. The V710s work really well on these cars. The V713s are another options: I also have a set of the V-302s from my 135 available if you are after a custom 19" look. |

Since you are looking for a quality lightweight one piece wheel, there are really only two options. The options are the Yokohama Advan RZ and the Volk G2. The Volk G2 is a Forged wheel, while the Advan RZ is a flow formed cast wheel. Overall quality between the two is fantastic and comparable. They are both designed for and used in Racing conditions, so both their strength/weight and finish quality can really take a beating. You were looking for a lightweight Forged wheel, but I would suggest the Advan as it is a little lower cost, and the strength and weight characteristics are very similar to a Forged wheel.
19" Advan RZ on our Project 1 18" Volk G2 on our Project 1 Both are available in 8" +45 front and 9" +50 rear, but the Volk is only available in 18" while the Advan is available in 18" and 19". Good sizing to fit a 225 and 255 tire with no rubbing issues. If you have any questions feel free to shoot us a PM. Last edited by Victory Road; 07-30-2010 at 01:58 PM.. |

Did you guys happen to notice your rear tires are going in opposite directions? I think the right rear is on backwards. |

I went with some OEM style 182's and really like them. Not sure about the Dunlop RFT sports yet, but really happy with the 182's. Of course if you are looking for 19"s that won't be an option for you.

Yeah, im definitely for more whoop ass than look fast. At least ill be able to have a little lip, if not much. But, im in it for 18s likely. I have 19s on the SRT, and just stepped down with a purchase of 18s and more side all profile on the skins. Roads here in Italy are not kind to low pro tires/wheels in town.

There is the Advan RZ-DF that is lipped and forged. The Advan RS is a lightweight wheel sitting in at around 18lbs for 18s. The Volk TE37 is less than 20lbs a wheel. The Volk G2 is also around that weight.
