Winter setup : 225/40/18 on rear wheel
Hi,
Winter is just around the corner and I need to look into purchasing a set of winters for my 135i. The car came with the staggered 18"s. I'm wondering if I can fit 225 width tires on the 8.5 width rear rim. Would it be too much of a stretch? I want to try to go thin as possible to help with snow grip in Chicago. Thanks! |

That works fine and is quite common.

can you fit 225s all over the car even if the wheels are staggered or would you be compromising anything?
for winter tires on stock staggered wheels, is it recommended that we put same size tires on all wheels or go for wider rears? would 225 be the smallest you can put on the factory rear wheels? |
