I have the purchasing part of car ownership under control but selling seems to be a problem:

2008 Lotus Exige S
1998 Ford Transit LWB turbo
1991 Reynard 91D Formula Holden
1984 Lotus Turbo Esprit
1979 Lotus Esprit JPS
1969 Lotus Elan Plus 2

The obvious question is............where do you keep all these cars??!! You must have a warehouse for a garage!

We built a house to suit and have one Lotus in storage. BMW and Ford get to live outside.

Awesome. I have a 4 car garage but one space is filled with stuff and the Vespa, so I can only fit in 3 cars. Shuffling the cars around is a PITA though.

Not fussed on leaving cars outside as the neighbours have had one of theirs broken into and the salty sea air would eat the cars in no time.

Seeing as you seem a bit Lotus crazy, you may remember the sale of the John Dawson-Damer collection http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mell...257491002541FE

Those cars were housed at my parents old farm at Robertson NSW in sheds my brother built and quite obvious to us why the family bought the property. The sheds were all insulated and had reverse cycle air conditioning.

This photo was taken next to one of the sheds..

Nice photo. I've sat in that car and was on track in my F2 when Colin Bond was driving it at the Adelaide GP in 87? It's the main reason we ended up in Formula Holden as I was trying to buy a later Lotus F1 car and we needed the experience to run it, but we had so much fun in FH we never left. JDD was certainly an enthusiast. At least he left the party doing what he loved.

No I dont. My coment was only because my parents sold their property to a member of the Dawson-Damer family and in conversations during property inpections, by father learned of the intent for the collection of Lotus cars were to be housed there and then of course we saw the subsequent auction of those cars later on.

I didn't mean "motor" in the literal sense!

I meant it in the Minder sense - as in mo-aa!!

Well if it is the same farm we are talking about, then Nick and Adel still stays there often from what he has mentioned...

I think he is referring to the e-class coupe with amg pack not an actual amg engined model if that makes sense. Way is your E63 W211 or W212?

It's a shame that mercedes didn't produce the E63 coupe, would have been perfect imho!

It's because the E-Class coupe is built off the C-class chassis, and was supposed to be badged as the new CLK. Other than the exterior look, it really has no similar structural features with the W212 E-class sedan.

Merc as a marketing move just decided to rebadge it as the E-class coupe so they could charge more. An AMG model would have a ridiculously high price.
