Sound - Only heard the Remus on clips, but first off, I have the PE and the sound is terrific especially when it carbons up a bit, it gets louder. It's also quite loud on cold startup, but dies down quickly.

Performance - None extra that I can feel. I would assume the Remus is the same.

Ease of fitments - Remus would be easier if you not talking about the quad as it's an axleback only. The PE system includes mid pipes that replace the resonators and without proper tools, it's hard to cut the mid pipes off. I actually bought an exhaust cutter to do the job. Both exhausts require you to cut.

Benefits coupled with procede - Just the sound really. Sound is totally intoxicating. Planning on going Procede as well. JB+ at the moment.

Check out Dan@United for price. Bought mine cheaper from him than anyone else + the dollar is a lot lot better than when I bought mine.

Up until a week ago i would have said BMW pe. I did not care much for Remus as i did not like the sound or the design of the tips.

However someone just recently posted a Remus "race" quad exhaust and I must say i do like it. They have also "fixed" their tip design to a thin double barrel similar to what you would find on a Ferrari. Looks real nice.

A mate of mine got the Remus exhaust and was so disappointed that he's taken it back. Sounds awful.

well Maddad is at the top of my list of exhausts at the moment. For me Maddad has achieved an almost perfect sound and also eliminates drone so its got my vote!

I'm getting a Remus from another forum member. Will let you know how it sound after putting it on. It is only a muffler though, whereas the PE removes one resonator.

Just fitted the Remus tonight. Was a bitch to get the exhaust off the hanger without a hoist. Otherwise was easy to fit. It is only a muffler though, and need to cut the stock muffler off.
Sound wise, at idle, not much louder than stock as the stock exhaust is fairly loud at idle. Sounds much better at higher range but still not obtrusive at cruising. I could hardly hear the stock exhaust at high rev, whereas the Remus gives a nice sound. Only had a quick drive, and couldn't listen to it with the window down due to the rain.
No noticeble gain of power.
Don't know how it compares to BMW PE. I certainly wouldn't say it sounds awful, quite like it in fact.

Please give advance warning if you're planning to bring something in Brian, I'm so tempted to pull the trigger already and get an exhaust in myself...

Here's your "advance warning" LiuB :

"Yes sir we are bringing the whole range of Madad exhausts for 135i in, exclusive for EWS of course. This includes Street series, Whisper series, mid pipe and even the brand new units with removable hanger (not even on the market yet til this point). Please give us a couple of weeks before we get pricing sorted out"

Cheers,

Hi JD,

Yeah by all means use those bags for more shoes n socks instead and you don't even have to worry about going over the weight limit for your luggage because we will definitely bring them in. As i said in my last post, please give us a couple of weeks to finalise pricing before we start a pre order thread on here. At the mean time if you have any questions please feel free to shoot me a PM

Cheers,

Brian

It is the same with my Remus. Loud at start up, then sudden drop in volume after the engine warms up. Must be due to the engine setting, not due to the exhaust flap opening or closing.

Reading all this I can't wait until my next visit to Andrew as I have the BMW Perf Exhaust sitting on the floor next to me as I type.

As I can't compare the 2, I would say the BMW Perf Exhaust would be the better option as it was designed for the N54 and nothing else plus it was obviously developed along the way with the N54 engine where the Remus is an outside company fettling with different exhausts to match the car.

That's my 2 cents anyway....

I had the same thought.... I am sure it is related to engine management system.

no i didn't.

I took a photo showing the differences between the two as it wouldn't have surprised me if Eisenmann made them but it was clearly different design. Eberspacher or Boysen make BMW exhausts.
