Popping the trunk

I installed the alarm system and it works fine. However, every time I try to pop the trunk using the remote right after unlocking the car, it won't pop. If I press the remote button a little longer, the alarm (supposingly dis-armed after unlocking) will sound. The only way I can open the trunk is to use the handle in the trunk door.

Is it suppose to be like that?

Sounds like something is wrong. Take it to the dealer.

Holding the button in makes the "panic alarm" go off. This is normal

Check that the valet parking trunk switch is in the correct posotion and that the actual lock on the trunk is in the correct position.

If everything is correct go to the dealer so they can see what wrong

I have the same issue after alarm installation. Just press for couple seconds (you need to release the button after 2-3 sec) and the trunk will pop. If you press longer the panic alarm will sound.
