Also, private sell the car. That's what I did. Right now the cost of STi's are outrageous because you just simply can't get them in the US right now. Suby isn't even taking orders because of the tsunami that hit them. Apparently there was a plant that makes airbag chips, and it got completely destroyed...so the Suby plant was at a standstill for months! I bought my Suby for 32k and 1-3/4 years later with 20k miles on it, I'm selling it for 31k. As for financing...go for a Credit Union (if you can) or shop around. BMW financing is eh...ok. My credit union was able to get me 3.75% on a 72 month loan. Good luck guys!! |

well I like the low payments with the select even if it does mean your paying for the car a lot longer and I was just wondering if doing the credit app directly with BMW makes it any harder to get approved for select then if I applied at a specific dealer, I would prefer to do it with bmw directly because then all dealers could assess that credit app but on the other hand if the requirements are more strict with the generic bmw credit app then they are when applying through a specifc dealer maybe I should do that, any input guys?

search around and you can find better rates... my Credit union at my work did 2.49%. I have seen recommendations for penfed and navy federal with as low as 1.99% in these forums.. With such a low rate, I agree.. the low payment for a 6 year rate is what I did as well. I can always pay if off faster. I am parting out my track car and already paid off my SUV which was at 4.9% as opposed to making a large down payment on the new car and going with a shorter payment schedule.
as far as allocations... this is correct.. |

Hello all! I am new to this Board...looking to find an M1 allocation. Any help would be appreciated as I was slow to come around to this car. Is there official word yet that allocations will extend past December?
Also, as of yesterday, there is a fully-loaded white 1M at Concord BMW in CA. The buyer backed out. Asking a $15k markup!!! |

I agree. I spoke over the phone to a guy named JT...might have been trying to gouge just a little. He quoted $69,085. Maybe he thought I worked for Facebook...

$1000 over MSRP
Okay guys, we're all searching for a car and all saying going over MSRP is silly . . . I've found one where the buyer just fell through. The dealer wanted $2k over MSRP and I said no. Now he's dropped it to $1k over MSRP. I've also got a deposit down at another dealer but that's of course completely uncertain.
Should I buckle and pay or hold out knowing there are likely more allocations coming? |

Comeback - where did you secure your car from...what dealer? Buckeyegirl...good luck. I recently had a dealer in Raleigh run ALL available priority 2's and 3's and only TWO dealers came up...the MASS dealer (which I posted up) and the dealer where I got mine from...P&W. P&W BMW in Pittsburgh may get another allocation with NO MARKUP. Call and talk to Tom Morgan and tell him that Brandon told you to call Hope that helps! |

In particular I just want to know how many one local dealership is getting so I can see if my spot on the list will provide me with a car or do I want to search around. They don't seem to know how many they are getting total.

Here is my long sad story. I have a deposit down and the largest local dealer in CO. 4th in line. Two people have their cars. One person ahead of me. My CA told me that they were told they were getting 4 total. Then he lost his job/quit and now they say they don't know how many they are getting. That's why I was wondering how you found out how many allocations were outstanding.

One allocation should open up in flemington BMW here shortly. As soon as my order at FL is complete, I would try tomorrow or Friday. His name is Bill Hinton. Great dealer to deal with, October build and MSRP.

VO 1M on eBay from Scottsdale just ended
Looks like this one didn't sell for the reserve - bidding got to $52,700, which was close to the original MSRP. If you want their car, this might be a good time to leverage the "no sale" in your favor. Keep in mind it's a used car.
