Chunner, how do you like the AS3s? I have MPSS in the same size right now and thinking I may go to the AS3 for the next set.

I have about 150 miles on them. Experienced them in the dry at about 25 degrees fahrenheit and then last night in about 4" of snow then highway slush and rain at about 30 degrees. I am satisfied with their all season quality.

I have the MPSS for my summers and dedicated winters. So I know the feel and difference of each set up. My favorite is the MPSS they feel more grippy and quieter then the MPS AS/3. The MPS A/3 is a good compromise but in no way more fun then the MPSS but then again are useless in 30 degrees weather.

I say stick with the MPSS in the summer and early fall and get the MPS AS/3 for the winter and early spring but in the dead of winter and snow. Dedicated snows is a must for our 1ers. I swap them out for fun. Only takes 30 minutes to change all 4 tires in and out.

Down on the Texas coast we don't see much snow. But, I did drive through ice and snow in north Texas this winter on fresh MPSS. That was an interesting day.

On a separate note, had to take the is in for 25,000 mile service. And here is my loaner.

Agreed! Totally majestic.

PS... Contrary to what sales reps have stated. My new VMR 710 18x9.5 ET 50 rear fitment is not guaranteed for all. I am experiencing slight fender rubbing in the rear during full suspension travel and will actually have to pull and roll out the fenders to make this fitment work.

I was searching for the 135is VIN registry and could not find it. I know I have seen one before. I did find the color code/transmission chart, but want to be able to figure out what number my is is out of the total produced. Can someone point me in the right direction?

My car seems to consume coolant at a crazy rate. This is the 3rd time that my car has been below the minimum level and I have had to add it. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Ya, it's pretty normal for the N55. Ironically I was just about to go down and check mine. I seem to have to add just a bit every 2-3 months. Worse yet is that there seems to be such a tiny difference in level between min and max and the actual coolant light/warning doesn't come on until seemingly half the tank is empty.

I can't remember -- was there ever a VIN and build # summary done for the plebian 135is convertible? I don't remember ever seeing one. If I missed it and you have the data, can you point me to the post? Thanks!

lol, there is nothing common about the 135is convertible. Its a rare bird. I have seen the sheet but do not have a copy of it. Its buried in this thread some where.

That can't be right. I have probably one the most high mileage 'is' here and I've yet to add a drop of coolant.

Have you checked your coolant level before? Bet you good money it's way below the min level. You should take a look and see.

I don't know if for some reason ours use a lil more due to the PPK2, but look it up, lots of threads about it. It's just that the darn light doesn't come on til it's bone dry. I only know cause there was seemingly a crack in my radiator they found during my car's PPI (or whatever it's called) so they had to replace it at the dealer before I even picked up the car. ANd I don't think they ever re-filled/topped off the fluids. So, I learned the hard way when that light comes on.

I have not checked to be honest but I would've expected the sensor to come on. And if does only light when it's bone dry, surprised I've yet to hit in the 34,000 miles I've had her. But I am bringing her to dealer for 1) low battery discharge (can't tell if it's the extreme cold) and 2) stupid right corner bulb malfunction error that comes on ONLY on startup momentarily but goes away 2 mins later (status in iDrive shows All Systems OK). I'll check the coolant level and mention to SA for a top-off if it indeed is low.

Ya, since mine came on that time and I saw that I had to add over half a gallon of 50-50 mixed coolant I was like, what the hell? You'd think the light would come on once it gets below "min" level, not when completely empty. So, since then I've been paranoid about it, looked up some info on it, and kept checking it cause I saw no leaks anywhere, wasn't dripping anything, and now just check it every 500-1000 miles and top it off as needed so it's always perfect.

Just make sure you haven't driven the car for a couple of hours before opening up that coolant tank as apparently there are a million warnings about it splashing up and burning you.

Only issues I've had so far:

1) one of the bulbs burned out in Blacklines (but not a real car issue)
2) front turn signal bulb dead - annoying because they forced me to wait 3 hours in line for warranty work instead of just handing me the bulb, so I paid $5 and did it myself
3) faulty brake pad sensor - got low pad warning but there was plenty of meat left
4) and now this, low battery discharge & corner bulb error

Nothing mechanical though, just stupid electrical gremlins but even all those were minor.

I've never checked for this car's coolant before. I've never even heard of nor read about N55s eating coolant. It's cool to know, thanks for the info.

Thank the heavens nothing serious has happened with my car yet after all these 15k miles and my car goes through severe traffic OR daily mountain runs (if I want to evade traffic).

EDIT: I find it ironic that 3002's 135is is having some sort of battery issue while my car's battery has been used to save/revive other cars almost 10 times now.

EDIT 2: Any of you guys/gals have an idea of how to source Royal Blue thread? (royal blue is the color of the stitch used in the cars optioned with the black w/ blue stitch interior)

I'm starting to get the low battery discharge warning whenever the car has been sitting over the weekend in sub-freezing temperatures, or even overnight if it the temps reach the single digits or lower. Today I lost my seat memory settings when I started the car up after work. I don't think this battery is going to make it to the end of the lease.

Experienced them in the dry at about 25 degrees fahrenheit and then last night in about 4" of snow then highway slush and rain at about 30 degrees. I am satisfied with their all season quality. I have the MPSS for my summers and dedicated winters. So I know the feel and difference of each set up. My favorite is the MPSS they feel more grippy and quieter then the MPS AS/3. The MPS A/3 is a good compromise but in no way more fun then the MPSS but then again are useless in 30 degrees weather. I say stick with the MPSS in the summer and early fall and get the MPS AS/3 for the winter and early spring but in the dead of winter and snow. Dedicated snows is a must for our 1ers. I swap them out for fun. Only takes 30 minutes to change all 4 tires in and out. Last edited by Chunner; 02-22-2015 at 10:49 AM..
