just as a wild guess from an guy who drives neither...

i'm going to presume that the M3 contingent is much stronger than the 1M.

Because we're fair and courteous enough to admit that the 1M is part of the 1er family, rather than being a (standa)loner.

Creating the 1M and the success it subsequently garnered was a case of serendipity for the ///M Division: they looked for a needle in a haystack and got out of it with the farmer's (finest) daughter (definition of this notion by Julius H. Comroe).

Satisfied with this answer or did you expect us to write "Because the 1M is no real ///M" ?

Here's to hoping your original post was satirical!!!

If not, then, well, I just feel bad for you. Find something more important to care about.

The OP drives an E82 M apparently and has an avatar with a 1M in it.

What's the fuzz? He has a great question already answered in some of the above postings.

Welcome here Big O

More like how the forum and the 1M thread evolved. If you go back to the history of the forum how it was 1addicts, and the original threads about the rumours of 1M, you will find the answer.

There is also no good reason to move the 1M out either as many threads from the 1 series applies to the 1M.

Hey Sparoz, looks like I offended some people with an innocent question. Be that as it may thanks for your diabtribe-free answer, unlike some of the rubbish responses above.

Well the real answer is that your car isn't a real M car, thus it doesn't deserve its own forum .

3...2...1.. go!

This could be the best thread ever! The M must come first in the name or it isn't an M car! (Said with strong German accent)

Mate,

Your first post ever was the equivalent of walking into a pub and asking "You're all a bunch of girls, who want's a fight?"

And you know it.

You took the time to figure out that the 1M forum is a subsection of the 1 Series forum so you knew that most of the people who saw it would be non-1M drivers.

You also added the "angry" emoticon to your thread title.

You were quite obviously looking to pick a fight. You can't follow that up with with wide-eyed exclamations of innocence and getting upset that people took up the gauntlet you had so inelegantly thrown down.

Your tone immediately changed the context of your post from an innocent question to a challenge to every non-1M driver on here and I for one don't believe it was by mistake.

I don't really care whether the 1M forum is separate or not but since it's 90% the same car and there aren't that many of them I don't really see the point.

Obviously the admins agree... and so do most of the 1M owners here...

For the record, i DO believe the 1M is a true ///M car.

Would you like to start over?
