What's fair asking price for my car?
I haven't paid much attention here to the boards at all recently. My wife has been driving the 135 lately.
I put my car up about a month ago for what i feel is a reasonable price and haven't had much interest yet. I know it's an auto, so i don't expect any interest here, but real world (cars.com) i figure there's more than a few people looking for them. 09 crimson red, black boston 44k steptronic sport/premium/cold weather/bluetooth/ipod/rear sensors/hi fi (no HK/No Nav) factory warr till end june this year just wondering what people are seeing similar cars priced for.... thanks Joe

from fair to excellent condition 22K to 25K. This is based on CA prices for private sellers. Other conditions may apply when selling the car.
But I see you are from Delaware so that may affect price too.

Unfortunately from what I saw the 1's don't get much love compared to the 3 series. The used prices are in the same range so unless somebody either sees it as a better bargain or is looking for a 1 then it might be for sale for awhile. Most people just don't understand what the 1 is, look at how many people think that it's supposed to be the cheap model.

I say like $22k for a private sale, I don't know if it's me but it seems like BMWs don't hold their value like in the past.

Being a 2 door sportyish type of vehicle, I suspect the 1 series is a bit of a hard sell. Requires a specific type of buyer.
Plus trying to sell during the tale end of winter is probably not the best timing. I would expect that if you are going to get any bites, they will start happening around now up until Augustish. Fwiw (and probably isn't worth much), I bought mine a year ago for $33,000 cdn. I have idrive, nav, sport, coral red leather, comfort access, got a set of winter tires and rims and only had 32,000km (20,000 miles). But being in Canada, we typically pay a fair bit more for the same car, so.... |

Ya at 23900 asking. Hoping to get 22.5-23 out of it.
With 3 series going back to 2007 you can get one with a few more miles for 20k. Might just drop to 22900 and stay firm on the price. Other option is just buy ext warr and keep for 3 years. I dont trust this motor and turbo setup out of warranty. Was probably going to end up with a 335x sedan 10 or 11, but can make our mild winters here with this car. |

turbos have extended warranty, motor is solid. hpfp issues have, it seems, been resolved (and have extended warranty to boot). Water pump is an ongoing concern/issue.

Yes. But since wastegate is part of the turbo and cannot be replaced separately, you get a new turbo if the wastegate fails. In reading here, it seems the majority of the turbo issues/failures are due to the wastegates failing.
