Intake manifold from 2010 BMW x3 3.0is?
I’m not too concerned about more power from my 128i but there is an intake manifold from a 2010 BMW x3 3.0is on my local Craigslist for $100. I assume since it’s $100 it’s not the intake manifold I want for adding some power, or should I go pick it up?

An X3 3.0is should have the 3-stage intake manifold, as that is the stock part for the higher-output (30i) N52 cars.
Also stock for the N51 SULEV low compression motor. If your 128i is an N52 non-SULEV, this would be an upgrade to 30i spec (assuming you get a tune). If you have an N51, you already have this manifold. Just note, the DISA valves are the pricey part of this conversion from a hardware standpoint. The manifold may be local and inexpensive, but it isn't very valuable on its own. I've seen more compelling prices on 3SMs with tested working DISA valves on this forum. If you already have an N51 with a 3SM, I don't see a reason to pick up a spare. It's the DISAs that wear out, not the manifold. Last edited by BikeNHV; 01-24-2021 at 12:32 PM.. |
