Getting sick of the drag strip, how often and when are some auto x meets? very interested in learning how to auto x

can i just jump right in and do an event or will i make a fool of myself lol? it would be my first time

you'll only make a fool of yourself if you care about it. really tho, AX is as intense or as chill as you want it to be. some people go balls out every run and chase tenths of seconds, some people are just learning, some know exactly what they're doing and still take it easy

bottom line.....DO IT! there are instructors and everything, so you'll learn quick. i went to the first event last season and haven't missed one yet

Dave, I don't know if you've ever swung by an event to check out what goes on there, but feel free to. Our club is unique in that we allow spectators to ride shotgun, and even have loaner helmets for that purpose.

If you're unsure, come on by on the 25th, and check out the fun. There's many of us 1ers there, and we'd be happy to take you out for a run.

If you choose to participate in future events (and I hope ya do), we have a great instructor program, and you'll be amazed at how much you learn about you and the car, even in a single day. There's so much room for continued improvements over time too. I still am learning a lot every event. The only difference is that you'll be picking up a few seconds each run, and folk like and_1 and me pick up a few thousandths of a second.

The only people who can quit this sickly obsession have to move as far away as Belgium. Boston Chapter is the bomb!
