Are these not an option on the dct? I remember you guys had a LSD on yours with a custom housing with fins I think. what would you guys recommend for a dct car with the owner on a budget that DDs with some autox and a track day here and there that loves to drift?

Winter has hit again, and the 135i REALLY needs a real LSD.
Interested in the complete Quaife Sport Diff. Need the complete unit ready to go as I work as a dealer tech (not BMW) and have access to my own hoist and tools, but for a max of 5-6 hours. Figure this would allow me to drop in on a Saturday morning. Question is, I have a 2013 135i 6MT which has the newer, smaller version of the OEM diff. Is it safe to assume the Quaife unit (with the 3.46 gear) uses the larger style of housing? What is involved in changing from the small housing to the big housing? Also, was wondering if the Quaife unit actually comes with separate drain AND fill plugs? |

Here is quick feedback about HPA customer's service, and the quality of their labor.
Dealt with HPA for my diff in early 2014. Im located in Quebec, Canada, but that did not stop Harold from helping through the whole LSD conversion process. First helped me locate the proper large housing 3.46 final drive with bolted ring gear diff from a recycler in Tampa, Florida. Donor car was a low-mileage, early 335i automatic sedan (Production date must be less than 08/2007 for the bolted Ring gear type, and proper housing size for the 6-speed manual 135i). The recycler included free shipping to any destination within the USA, so I had the pumpkin shipped to Harold in Santa Barbara, California. Harold from HP Autowerks has been fantastic in returning my emails and accomodating my request. It was a great experience through the whole process. Harold offered a small rebate on the Quaife ATB and conversion labor. I had no core return to deal with, because I sourced a used core in the USA, and chose to not send mine from Canada. to save on shipping and paper work. Really happy with my Quaife 3.46 final drive, after a year of abuse at the track and on the street. So expertise, excellent service, flexibility and patience is what comes to mind when I think of this vendor. I highly recommend them.
