New to forum, new to the car!
Greetings all,
I just picked up a 2010 135i in Alpine White with Coral Red interior. It has basic 6sp automatic transmission and the N54 engine. Previous owner put 48K miles on the clock but all in all, the car seems to be in great shape. I have some initial questions - and I did search around for answers with not much luck... 1. My car does not have a sport button, does this means I don't have launch controls? I've tried the steps outlined somewhere in these forums to no avail. (DTC button depressed once, shifter in M1, left foot on brake and right foot on throttle). 2. My car is equipped with the ancient looking professional radio. There is a USB port and what appears to be a 3.5mm aux jack under the arm rest with a small pouch, presumably for iPhone or iPad. When I try to plugin my iPhone 6 (IOS 8.3), the professional radio does not detect the device (I am selecting the USB source, however the radio simply displayes "insert USB" message). I'm trying this with a standard apple USB cable. Do I need some sort of special BMW accessory to make this work? Or is this USB port meant for standard USB thumb drive loaded with MP3s? 3. Is adding Bluetooth feasible? My car has the controls, but no BT functionality. I think this is it for right now , thanks in advance to whomever spends time to respond. Dre |

Hi Dre,
Congratulations for the car. Not sure about item 1, I have 6 MT. 2. You need to get a BMW Y Cable. I used Goliton® BMW iDRIVE iPOD iPHONE iPAD CABLE on Amazon and it has been working fine for me although some other people have had mixed results. You can use a 3.5 mm AUX cable instead but you won't be able to control the iDevice from your radio. I have an older style 30 pin iPod that I have been using not sure about the new style apple jack. 3. Not sure about bluetooth but it only pairs with your phone, you cannot do bluetooth streaming for song audio. Good luck with the car. -Phil |

You have the M Sport package, which includes the very nice sports seats and the fat, chunky ///M steering wheel... nice. Love the perforated leather and the way that steering wheel feels in your hands. Also included in that package are your 261 style wheels, just in case you didn't know.
BTW, my first 1er had Coral Red interior... love it.

I had no idea the wheels were a 261 style! Thanks for that info!! The car has little under 50k on the clock and runs flawless but I'm getting a list of maintenance items ready... I'll be ordering the parts soon but so far I'm thinking: Air cabin filter, oil filer & oil, 6 new spark plugs, air filter |

Congrats on the car, love the color combo!! Forum tip, beware of edisapimp , he spreads around a lot of propaganda
The first thing I would do would be to look up you cars options and check for "preparation for mobile phone" if you have this you are in great shape. And it will make the install much easier. You can decode your VIN here: http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html If you are not prepared for bluetooth phone (like me) then you have a few more steps to complete to make this work. You will have to install the microphone line and Bluetooth antenna cable. However if you have BMW assist, you may not need to install a mic (someone verify this for me). So assuming you have the same options as me (USB, professional radio, no BMW assist, no mobile phone preparation) this is what you will need. (1) BMW Microphone - P/N 84316938762 (1) BMW Bluetooth antenna - P/N 84506928461 (5) BMW wire leads - http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E60-530...3.0L/ES164037/ (1) mic connector - p/n 61138377072 (20 ft) General speaker wire (1) 1ft fakra cable - http://www.ebay.com/itm/8in-SMB-stra...-/160841105791 Follow the steps in this thread for the installation of the components listed above http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=104 I installed the microphone into the factory location which is in the overhead light console, it snaps right in. This required you to run a cable from the trunk to the overhead console. This isn't difficult, just time consuming. Then you need to get your car coded to enable the feature.
