Comfort Access question..

Has anyone who has CA tried leaving the key in the boot and closing the lid?

On my 08 Vert the boot will just close and lock..BUT on the 09/335i loaner I had last week, the boot will NOT close with the keys left in there..Just keeps unlocking as you attempt to close the lid.

Is there a setting that I cant find or is this a 09 CA standard setting?

Mine does what your 09/335i loaner did. I thought this was a standard feature for all cars with CA.

My 08 135 locks the boot with the keys in it if I have the other keys in my hand (as it will the doors), but if I leave the other keys out of range, it unlocks the boot again as soon as I lock it.

Mine will lock myself out if I do that. I just have to make sure I unlock the front first before putting anything in the boot with keys in it.

I only do that when I come back from the gym. Otherwise, key will be in the pocket all times.

Something that people should have thought through. Same issue is there for Toyota's keyless entry.

Just contacted BMW and was advised by the Service Mgr to look inside the right hand top side of the glove box, and there should be a dead lock switch for the boot release..

It should be switched to off.. This could be the problem.. Will have a look tonight.

Also..points to note with CA..

If car doors are unlocked then the auto boot release for the CA wont work.. The CA auto release only auto opens the boot if the CA sensors that all the doors are locked.

Thanks all for your replies.. Now we all know there is a hidden switch in the lockable glove box if you want to lock your valuables in the boot while valet parking..

I have this switch too, but completely useless if i lock my keys in my car (non-CA).

I found THAT out when the mrs did it.
