1/4 mile 135 vert
Got bored yesterday and ever since getting my non runflat pzeros (more than 6 months ago!) I have been meaning to test them out.
I had only one run at this and wasted vital tenths with wheelspin in 1st gear. The reason I wanted to try it out was because the original runflats were terrible with grip - spinning through 1st 2nd and beginning of 3rd gear. Timing was done with iphone app dynolicious secured horizontly in the armrest with the snap in adaptor (before I get flamed this app has been incredibly accurate and does give us an idea). So to the fun part: Conitions: Dry, flat, 23.5degress Celcius Car: 135 vert , DMS ECU tune, pirelli pzeros, driver only, 73kg Launch: Brake boosted to 1600rpm, Traction control fully off 60' : 2.13s , as said above there was quite a lot of wheelspin in 1st with snaking of rears side to side 0-100km/h = 5.08s 0-160km/h : 10.77s 1/4 : 12.95 Trap: 179.3km/h = 111.4mph approx 80-120km/h = 2.7s (M3 = 3.2) Estimated HP at crank = 380hp which is about right. With the old runflats I was getting 0-100 in 5.3. Stock I was getting about 5.8s These tyres I feel have made a huge improvement. With good launch technique I reckon a 0-100 in 4.8s and 1/4 in 12.8 would be achievable. Based on above the coupes with JB3 etc should be getting 4.5s / 12.5s I reckon - more than quick enough to beat an e9x M3. |

Not bad. The best I've got using dynolicous since I've got new tyres has been around 5.2-5.3 sec for 0-100km/hr but my car is bone stock. Weather is upwards of 27 degrees and I have RE-11's which only have about 3,000km on them. I'm hoping to consistently pull around a 5.0 sec for 0-100km/hr which would put me as a 4.8* sec 0-60mile/hr car.

The one time I wish I had an iPhone... hahaha
x5mad, is your car manual or auto? Sounds like manual? Wouldn't a coupe be about .5 seconds quicker down the 1/4? And then the auto may be a tiny bit quicker... That would make me around the 12.5 second for the quarter, I am not sure about that? I am itching to find out! |

Mine has a DMS ECU flash thats why you see those numbers. So if you had a flash or JB3 on your coupe then 12.5 for yours would be very attainable. |

You got wheel spin in 1-2-3 with an auto with the run flats? I can only get it in first, although haven't done a full launch yet since the tune.

Was running 3 for a while, changed to 4 about a week and a bit ago. Will be going to 5 soon I think. No issues whatsoever so far.

I have been running map7 for the past six months with no issues to date. Have checked for codes with the Bav Tech tool every time I go for a "spirited drive"..which is like once a week. Touch wood all good. Back to the original post I am still running the run craps and on map7 have had a few sub 4.8 sec 0 to 100 runs. Six speed manual all traction OFF.

Did you get the tyres checked out and re alignment at the complimentary 5000km? I am well past that now and just never got a chance to take it back in for a check. If you did, anything to report? Thanks.

x5mad, tried it out again still no wheelspin in 2nd or 3rd... Wouldn't it be easier in the coupe being lighter?

Wheelspin was only for the very beginning of 3rd but definately in 1st and 2nd. Is yours a manual? I'm guessing may be due to slightly more aggressive gearing and final drive ratio in auto and the fact that an auto will hold boost better in between gear changes.
How are you launching? Traction fully off? |

No problems to report, now that I have done the 10000 check. Tyre wearing much better than I thought, as I have heard c63s chewing up the P.Zeros (same as ours).

To my eye the wear seems quite ok and acceptable. I've heard that when the PZero's go off you can really notice it, they just spin out badly. |
