I spent new year eve with WAY.

He is alive and well. He tolls around 7000 car forums. I am sure he will be here at some stage.

Glad everything worked out. That rear widebody might come sooner than later. We're having major rear traction problems with our car now that it is making 439whp and 469wtq. 10" wide 285 tires aren't enough anymore .

That's exactly what I was waiting for on it. The rears need to match the front

still looks cool though, top work!

The owner is buffing up, must be that 'lifestyle choice' he made a while back...lol...i think he is spending too much time in the gym this may affect his overall weight.

Seriously though, good savings will be made, the seats for example are very heavy and even that on its own will make a difference with the savings on the carbon bodywork.

Kid you not Andrew. I am very doubtful that WAY's increase of girth includes any ounce of muscle.

Hello everybody! Lol. I have not gone anywhere, just haven't been on here.

Thanks Andrew for putting the pics up. The car is a fair bit lighter at the front, about 20kg lighter. You may say it isn't much, but you can actually feel it with sharper turn in etc. I raced the car at the Australian Tarmac Challenge shortly after the conversion, and came second in class which wasn't too bad considering I still have the narrow wheel set up which means I couldn't take advantage of the wider front. Anyway I don't mind it at all to say the least! Thanks to Andrew and Fred (Evolution Racewerks). Anyone considering this should go ahead and do it!

I am not planning to paint it white. This is a track car, so it doesn't really get used on the road. Who cares if it looks like a panda? When I go to races, it fits in much better like this than stock looking lol.

Fred, have you got hood pins on your car? I need to find a really long one I think. The bonnet I have doesn't fit that well (this isn't Fred's work btw, as ER doesn't have a carbon hood yet).

Don't have a carbon hood yet. I have a VERY small budget to work with which is already being used on something else

Use the recessed hood pins. They should reach. Something like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...d=310110321603

Thanks Fred. That is what I am after, but Turner Motorsport sells one much cheaper? $79 and it looks exactly like the Top Secret one. Anyway, had a good look at the engine bay today and can't work out where I would put this! Next time you have you hood up, can you have a look and give me a suggestion?

Oh I just used that as an example so you knew what I was talking about. I know the Top Secret one is $$$.

Drill a hole in to the plastic by the headlight. Should be able to get it to work there. That or you can make a bracket (make sure it's strong) to move the mount to where you need it.

Is it a common practice to mount it on plastic? Would it be strong enough I wonder?

We will see. One step at a time. Thanks for the compliment.

Andrew, have a look at your 135i tomorrow and see if you can recommend a spot for hood pin. The plastic bit Fred suggested may be an issue...

Yes, it's strong enough. Most modern cars are plastic in the front. Remember, your stock hood latch is mounted on the same plastic

Haven't had a look at it, but the double layer struture of the bonnet edge may make it too difficult to do that! Have a look at this pic of my bonnet at about 250kmh.

I backed off at that speed because we were supposed to only have a 800m run which my car got to 220kmh. After that we had another 4km before coming in, but we were supposed to back off to 180kmh. I had to go a bit faster for the camera lol.
