Any downsides? I ask cuz I remember looking into a lightweight crank pulley for my mk5 before and read there were a few downsides to having a lighter pulley, although this may have been because the pulley itself was smaller. Is this pulley's size smaller then stock, or just lighter weight?

$229???? Yikes, can we get a group buy on this? I had one of the best/lightest pulleys on my STi and it was only $129.
Also what's the weight of this pulley vs. the stocker?

How much harmonic dampening/balancing does the stocker do?

Some more info...

The NST CR-Lite Crank Pulley does NOT underdrive the accessories, and is roughly
65% lighter than the OEM pulley. 110oz vs. 40oz.

NST has been the leader in sport compact pulley development over the past
several years, offering lightweight aluminum pulleys for Honda, Nissan, Toyota,
Scion, VW, BMW, etc. owners. There are THOUSANDS of positive customer reviews
on many online forums. No cases of engine failure have been reported as a
result of NST pulleys being used.

You can read a bit more here...

Quote:
The NST Lite series is a designation used for pulleys that are light-weight versions of their OEM counterparts. All NST pulleys are built using High quality 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum and are roughly 65% lighter than steel or cast iron OEM pulleys.

The NST Lite series is designed for owners looking to reduce weight and increase the throttle response of their engines. These OEM-diameter pulleys will neither underdrive nor overdrive the associated accessories, yet lead to great throttle response and improved horsepower numbers in many applications.

Each NST kit is carefully crafted from 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum, tested and balanced to high tolerances. Every NST pulley is hard anodized for exceptional durability and is great for use at the track or on the street.

Available in your choice of color: Red or Black.

NST CR-Lite Crank Pulley for the BMW 335i N54 is compatible with the OEM BMW belt.

Just curious, is anyone familiar with the install of one of these? Would this be a fairly easy DIYer for someone like me who isnt an expert on engine mods installation? Just wondering.

x2 I do think $229 is reaching a bit. I would accept $150 as a fair group buy for something like this, hopefully an installation guide is shipped with? Lets get one rollin though, Cal

It's pretty easy, if you can change your belts you can do this. All BMWs have auto tensioners so you don't really have to worry about setting that once you put your belts back on.

Check out the DIY here

As for a GB, if I can get at least 5 people, I can hook it up. Just PM me for special pricing.
