Berk exhaust fitment issues
I just picked up a used Berk race exhaust. I went to put it on and threw it on all of the hangers and when I went to bolt up the flange it was about a inch off counter clockwise. I also tried to bolt up the flange first before the hangers to see if maybe its just crappy fitment and the entire exhaust was nearly sideways and would not work out.
I have a 2012 n55, not sure whats going on any ideas? I didnt get any pics I do not have a lift so getting pics was pretty tricky seems straight foward so hopefully you can imagine. |

Whats weird is if you look at the photo of the exhaust you can tell the flange is angled straight
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1210014 And if you look at the company photos its angled. http://www.berktechnology.com/conten...01-S%20(3).jpg |

Return it, or take it to an exhaust shop, and have them rotate the flange, and reweld it. Shouldn't cost more than $50 out the door.

No way of knowing. Maybe the hangers got bent in shipping or something. There is no difference in the midpipes, where the axleback attaches, between N54 and n55.

The hangers and everythign were so far off it would of had to be a bent flange area which couldnt of happened. Which is why I am so baffled haha. Even the tips were angled bad when I attatched the flange only.

This is a little difficult to analyze without any pictures... Please provide some pictures of the exhaust... Not sure if this will help, but the Berk exhaust sits flush with the diffuser (maybe a little bit more inward) compared to the BMW PE and stock exhaust. When I did mine, I know I had to move it around a bit (rear hangars first, and then I bolted it up).

How do the tips line up with the bumper when on the hangers?
This was connected to some crappy custom mid on the car that I bought which is why I took this off, went to a quad too... It's possible the flange was rotated when whatever shop was doing this terrible work but isn't it nicely welded on by Berk? |

I just got back from a local shop getting the flange rotated. I sadly did not take any photos since I thought this was an easy fix of rotating the flange and rewelding but turns out the previous owner of your car must of got some custom mid pipe made and for some reason modified the berk exhaust so it fit it.
We didnt have the car with us so the flange was measured and rotated properly using the stock exhaust so now it alligns properly but its over an inch and a quarter short so I have to go back and just to make it easier I will take my car. I will get photos when I do. |

I got mine fixed the previous owner modified it before he sold the car to the guy I bought it off of to fit his custom made mid pipe so it was shortened and flange was turned for some odd reason.
