Cup Holders

I spilled coffee all over the menu buttons/idrive knob because of the awkward and lame cup holder under the armrest.

The menu button no longer responds but luckily, the dealer have advised that they will replace it under warranty. 2 week wait for parts to arrive from germany.

Anyway, anyone have any decent cupholder solutions fo the 1-er?

I think it's a trade-off. Have iDrive and be unable to drink in the car, or be able to drink in the car and get lost when you drive.

There are a few solutions available which attach drink holders to the side of the the dash where the cigarette lighter and smoking package is. Not sure exactly where, but wouldn't be too hard to find if you googled "E82 drink holder"

We should get the cool dash mounted drink holders that the 335i has.

For some reason i've never really liked them

When my Mrs got in the loan car on Friday her first comment was how cool the drink holders were... I don't know, just don't think they're aesthetically attractive to me.

Looks decent but I don't think they make these for the right hand drive market.

You still have to retrofit/modify the centre console to adapt for the cup holder..There was a thread how to in the DYI section about 18 months ago..

Seemed like a lot of work for ONE cup holder..
