Cleaned the car in preparation for Sunday and took it for a photo shoot.
I have a feeling it may have been a labour of love though with the weather forecast looking grim. My cousin wont be chuffed either, it's her wedding day on Saturday. |

Great show. Lots of great beemers (50?), including innumerable E30 M3s & highly modded track cars. One beautiful E9 3.0 CS.
I was one of the judges for the car exteriors. Being newer (and very well looked after), Chappy & Matty's cars got the highest scores from me. I didn't get to judge Jude's Matty cleaned up as the best of the newer models and also won best audio. 'Had a sit in his car & a feel of his knob while he wasn't looking. Apparently Gazz dropped by too. |

For what the Motorfest is, which is primarily an opportunity to raise money for the Careflight helicopter service, and that all the displays are done on a volunteer basis with club members putting in time and money to display their pride and joy, I reckon it's great. It could be even bigger and better if more car clubs get involved in the years to come. |

yeh the one next to your 135's..
if you could just ask that would be great, i'm just curious.. i was drooling over the E9 Alpina until i saw the screws holding the front lip on i had a look at the other cars and the quality in my opinion was pretty low, some of the owners of the E-Types and a few of the other british cars should be ashamed of themselves

Over all I thought the show was pretty good, the quality probably wasn’t as sharp as that found out at lakeside for the Macleans Bridge show a couple of months ago, but it was still a good show. Motorfest isn’t a Concourse Delegance more a fund raiser.
Motorfest seems to be more a more family atmosphere, the gold coin entry certainly helped get numbers through the gate as it was packed when I got there. I thought they were defiantly giving the markets a good crack this year, seemed to be a heap of stalls. I was really hoping to see a Ferrari 458 there as I followed one all the way from the Valley to Eagle Farm but sadly not the case. First sighting of a 458 on Aussie roads and fark me it looked amazing!! defiantly needed a cold shower afterwards. Hats off you BMW guys too variety of cars was excellent. Well done guys for volunteering your time. Matty's car looked a treat. Said hello.
I went to see the e9 Alpina and I wasn't disappointed. Okay it's not a concourse restoration but for what looks to be a regular driver it was pretty good. I think I can count on one hand how many of those I've seen on the road. The Lancia Aurelias were gorgeous, a lovely 1974 Alfa 2000GTV, good and bad E-types, a bristol. Not much else there for me, esp' the lack of Alfas. No Porsches, Ferraris, Maseratis, Lambos ( except the one at the BMW display ) and no 2002 Tii - bugger. I gather it was a kind of bring what you have sort of event but I was surprised at the poor quality of the paint work on many so called show standard cars. Still, good to see the cars in general. |
