More 1M pics

My humble efforts. Still learning how to do this so be gentle.

Taken from Upper Beechmont in the Gold Coast Hinterland. About 15 mins from home. Great mid week driving right down past the border to Northern NSW.

Looks good Gazz .. I would have chosen white too even though the VO is attractive.

Looking good Gazz! I drove down to Bowral a couple of days ago thinking I would take some photos . . . and it snowed. Welcome to NSW.

Thanks guys. I still have a long way to go before I am proud of my photos but hey ya gotta start somewhere. Also due to time constraints I had to click in the mid day sun; somewhat less than ideal.

The car has probably settled and the suspension is standard. It may be just the uneven ground showing the appearance of lowering.

At the risk of upsetting some the 1M is not the prettiest car out there and I am trying to find angles that flatter it without resorting to tricky stuff like ultra perspective lenses and photoshopping. Eg. close-up wideangle of the rear is one that springs to mind. Many have mentioned how the car looks different in person so it would seem that I am not the only one having trouble. Then again, the camera may be telling the truth and the in-person viewer is seeing the car through biased eyes.

Nice pics. Pretty or not pretty ... when the pedal hits the floor, aesthetics and proportions become secondary

great pics, lighting is much better, shame your shadow is on the second one otherwise you could put it on your wall, those wires could be photoshopped out easily too, car looks really good

Agree. Thanks for the constructive criticism. I need to take more time with composition and planning is essential when dealing with a time limited light window. Photography is a new venture for me, and at this stage I am just exploring to see where it will take me. Have just bought CS5.5 so I'm on a very steep learning curve with the various elements - Techical aspects of cameras, processing (photoshop), and most important, how to make an interesting picture. All good fun and I'm learning to see things in new ways.

Gazz if you're Mac based there is some really good Apple Pro education for Apeture/Photoshop/et al, very worth while to understand the basics. Both textbook + DVD based and in class based.

Thanks Kenny. Mac based unfortunately. I have the 387 page CS5 book, (photoshop), the 534 page Nikon D7000 book, (this is separate to the camera's 326 page manual which nobody reads apparently), the 352 page "Art of Photography" book and others, so I will be busy for a while. Bought a flash unit and the manual for that is 127 pages - Jeez!
