Haha, believe it or not, replying to your post on that thread is actually on my iPhone Reminders! Been really crazy hectic at work - 11.13pm and I just got home. Have never had a chance to take some proper pics - have one I took for Sparoz on my phone! To be honest I never looked at the full range - I prefer a simple face so 312 sounds the goods. I saw the 320 when I was home last time and fell in love - Darwin is not the best place to be following up watch choices! In Singapore next month so will have proper look. Is the metal strap swappable with the brown leather one? |

I almost bought this instead of the 1M... my wife made me choose...
And this is a perfect match for the VO 1M... Movements are everywhere - it needs to have something else unique before I am interested in.

My Seamaster Titanium - Weighs just 111 grams, discreet, 41mm diam' and comfortably fits under a shirt cuff. Can read it at a glance, especially at night.
Moderate cost so I'm not afraid to wear it anywhere and if it cops a scratch I won't feel that the whole watch is ruined. Scratch a $10,000+ watch and I guarantee you won't wear it till it is (expensively) repaired. |

Okay - I love that IWC, but would have to sell the 135 to buy it!

I too am looking for my first good watch, so far I have only looked at Tag watches (grand Carrera).
Quick question, are all higher end mechanical watches as thick as Tag? I found it too thick to fit easily under the cuff of my business shirt, which if spending that much on a watch would be annoying.

No not all are thick Michael. There are some good watch makers out there that make automatic 'thin' models. Like JaegerLeCoultre, even IWC's can be quite thin.
Depends on how much you want to spend though... Usually thin ones are expensive as it's harder to make. Also depends on the look you are after, the sporty/diver/pilot type watches can be quite bulky. |

I'm looking forward to the day that I can pick up a big pilot.. been my favourite for a few years now.
Current daily is a two tone auto tag carrera. I picked up the matching set for my wife and I as a wedding present to ourselves so it's one I will never part with. |

Never heard of U-boat either... they kind of look like toy watches?
