Virtual dyno FBO no meth
I posted this on n54tech but I know a lot of folks don't go over there. Anyway I have been playing with the virtual dyno software. I am not sure but I've read it is close to accurate. I need to get better runs to feed in for current performance but my past ones are all kind of crappy.
I did a compare of my car from when it was just JB4 stage 2 map 1 to now FBO no meth on pump gas map 2. 60hp/50tq not bad from downpipe, IC, and intake. I think these are low personally against what others have done, but those are real dynos and this is done from my PC

Are you sure the weight is correct? My weight was lower IIRC. I can post my virtual dynes if you want to see them. I need to try it again though more scientifically. I averaged like 5 runs the first time but it wasn't at the exact same spot each run.

It counts the driver and I'm a fatty (a svelt 260 right now). Haven't verified exact weight tho, just using the built in weight from the software.

Sounds about right then, isn't the car around 3350 stock?

Yeah I'm a little over 200 too. I must have done something wrong as mine shows a weight of 3428 and it seems the car itself weighs that much. Or maybe they changed the weight in the virtual dyno since I did mine.

You take a log of a 3rd or 4th gear pull then import it into the virtual dyno software. There are some adjustable parameters like tire diameter, weight etc. Once you fill everything out you get a dyno. It's pretty fun to play with. I'd assume putting in too low of a weight would make the dyno read low.

Virtual dyno can be VERY accurate at measuring gains when used properly. This means using the same road, the same driving pattern and hopefully similar temps.
How many data points do you have per second in your logs? The more, the better. |
