Took delivery of my BMW 1M
Finally after an agonising three and a half months I have taken delivery of my 1M. I hardly slept a wink last night, I was that excited and just could not wait.
Got my missus to drive me to the dealers this morning, even she did not know what I had bought. Fist thing she says when I tell her it's that one over there is, it's Orange As soon as I walked into the dealership it was parked up in the handing over bay. It looked simply amazing Nice touch from the dealership: A pic of me stood next to my new toy Took it home and took some more pics: Right that's enough from me for now, I'm going out for a drive To those that are waiting for their cars i'm not going to lie the wait is almost like torture but believe when I say it will be worth the wait when you get your cars.

Congrats! Looks VERY nice!!
I'm very jealous as right now, I'm sitting at work, feeling pretty bored of waiting and knowing that you're out driving this around Still, give me a couple of months and I'll be joining you!! Make sure you let us know your impressions after driving it. For those of us who are still waiting, reading the comments posted by new owners is really refreshing and keeps us going |

Congrats AMAR! very nice welcoming at your dealership. I'm glad everything went smooth there.
But let me tell you my story, today was also D-day to pick up mine. So everything was set to collect the car at 15:00hours. At 9:15 am I got a call from my SA telling me that while prepping the car they noticed a crack in the front window, and of course needless to say there was no delivery to be held today . Finally after waiting 7 months, car fully paid and waiting for it IT's still playing that "hard to get" thing with me. |

I ticked nearly all the optional extras, as far as I can remember I did not go for: High beam assist & Internet, they may be more but I can't remember.

I sold my C63 early lasy year due to work commitments. Around a year later I was in a postion to go and treat myself to a new motor. I had two cars in mind: Another C63 AMG or BMW M3 Saloon. If i'm honest i really wanted to get back into another C63 because they are fantastic, you just have to make sure that you get one that has an LSD fitted otherwise don't bother. I went to view two cars mentioned above. The condition of the Merc was average and the M3 was spotless. Also I was reluctant to spend £40k on a C63 when the facelift model was literally round the corner. So I bought the M3, I was however pleasantly surprised with the M3 it really did exceed all my expectations. It's a fanrastic car they both are. Now that I have owned both I am in a better position to make judgements. In my eyes the C63 betters the M3 in only three places. Looks, interior and sound. That is it everything else driving handling etc stc the M3 is a better car, it just looks a little boring and too much like a normal 3series saloon. Sorry for rambling on....

My last weekend toy was a Clio Trophy. Dodgy build quality but wot a drivers cars. There's a reason it's rated highly by evo magazine and certainly a giant killer. I sold it last Oct after 3 years of ownership and 9k miles extra on the clock. Looked at replacing it with an Exige S and funnily enough the guy who bought it off me turned up in an Exige S 260 Cup. Took me for a spin. Had a stage 3 exhaust and although it had motorbike acceleration I just felt it was too extreme even for weekend use. I looked at C63s and the M3 Saloon (coupe just doesnt look right) but felt they were both a bit big in the end. Even considered a 997 Turbo but with the Gen2 out I couldnt justify spending that much. Then comes the 1M which ticks all the boxes. Mine will be a early xmas present, but yours is more of an early Eid present I guess!! hahahaha Enjoy! |
