Much more stable from the much more precision damping of the R&T vs OE. OE has way too much compression damping and not nearly enough rebound damping.

You can easily drop the front and rear 2".

This might be a stupid question but is it possible to install the R&T kit without lowering the car?

I understand that ride height is adjustable, won't the springs (for lack of a more technical term) be "too stretched" if I keep the car at stock height?

Any such parties want to comment on the relative merits of JRZ vs Ohlins vs KW etc. for the guy that wants a streetable suspension that can be much more buttoned down at the track?

Harold swapped his JRZ to Ohlins. I really doubt any one other than who's in the business will just swap their suspension etc. Also, depending on track and settings one can feel better or worse.

I think in such a case Harold's swap is as close as you will get to an unbiased view.

If I remove the lower sleeve on the front strut will this kit work on a 135i with a M3 rear camber link conversion?

[EDIT] - Emailed Harold. That's a negative, but, he can do custom kits for people who do the conversion as Ohlins sell struts separately

No, it will not as the 1M/M3 front struts are specific to those two models and not the 135/335i strut with adaptor sleeve. AST, KW, TCKR, JRZ, MCS and some others simply add the sleeve, but not Ohlins.

Since you asked... in my opinion, KW doesnt even belong in the same conversation as Ohlins and JRZ.

And I say it seems like you oughta know! Do you agree that Ohlins better than base JRZ as suggested by above discussion?

Based on Harold's thread, he seems to prefer the Ohlins over the JRZ and he's had both on his 1M. I'm not sure if his opinion has changed.

I have no personal experience with ohlins.... I would definitely defer to Harold.

Yes, my vote is still on the Ohlins R&T over the JRZ RS1. Now that I have many miles on the Ohlins R&T I still love them and this is THE coilover that will stay on my 1M!

As the name implies, this is a road and track kit, not a full race kit.

Did you swap to linear rate swift springs?

What's the benefit of tossing the springs that come with the Ohlins RT kit?

Ohlins springs are linear as well. Swapping to Swift allows rate changes and use a more compact spring for more wheel/tire clearance.
